But it's very easy to cheat, with a copy of res-edit, make your ship very powerful with high crew, and capture whatever ship you want, then just do missions until the end of the month. Not to hard, you'd have to be honest.

Never played "Strict," but I will give it a go in the time I have. This could be interesting....

Hell, I'll give it a shot, I always am looking for something to do so why not, only problem is now I'm a few days behind. Oh well, I seem to have a lot of disposable time, we'll see what happens.

FLOBBLEDEEFEE, that's what we said when we were mad or frustrated, we said it because we were idiots. A bunch of inbred, illiterate, cro-magnons, blowin' our noses on crusty handkerchiefs, waiting in line for our heads to burst into flames. That's the way it was, and we liked it!

But now, I must extend my greatest thanks to a man who has recently saved my hide. While running a stellar defense mission in the Deneb system in my modified scoutship, the Blazing Moose , I was come upon by vastly superior numbers of pirate corvettes. The was really nothing I could do accept to lean on the afterburners. I might have met my end if not for a great man... Andrew Welch. Mr. Welch came up exuding style in his pumped up luxury liner, and pumped the pirates full of torpedoes. It did not take him very long, and the confederate frigate that was also in the system had little to do with him there. Yes, Andrew Welch has done me a great service this day...

Yeah, happened to me, too... There I was in the Sauron system in my Guapo Corvette, headed for Osiris. (Convoy duty.) I was attacked by a Pirate corvette. I was game, and started beating him over the head without further ado...
But then Andrew Welch attacked him with many, many torpedoes...
So I watched him die. I thanked AW. I left.
Update: I now have 9.1 million credits... I'm halfway through the Alien mission series...

Played about three hours. The only reason I'm still "in" is the escape pods really work. (I considered the idea a MB trick before.) I've been in nine (9) Shuttlecrafts....!
(My second ship was the Courier the first seven times. The Scoutship's superior speed is all that has saved me from insanity....)
I keep jumping into the middle of a Kestrel/Lightning pirate convoy. Before I can react, their missles and heavies have me drifting in an escape pod.
I finally made it into a 'Vette / decided to fight back against a pirate Argosy / forgot to pay attention to the Macro view of the system / a Kestrel pirate flanked me. "Hello, Escape Pod!!!"
I HATE this game....!

Don't feel too badly Kappy Karl... I've seen my fair share of escape pods too. :Ź} Ah yes, Mr Welch did me a great service against the pirates, but he could not always be there for me, and I have many times gotten an up close and personal view of what Command-E does.
I've been pretty much wiped out a couple times... and I've decided that modifying an Argosy for heavy fighting just doesn't work. There's no way to make the blinkin' thing fast enough. Steppin' up from a scoutship to a Corvette next time... :ŹD

Okay, things are different now. In my tenth (!) Shuttlecraft my luck has improved. No surprises from sneaky Kestrels -- plus I pay attention to the Macro screen more.
I'm in a 'Vette with Clipper escorts. The credits are piling up. I'm taking down Frigates and Kestrels with ease....
Who said I "hate" this game??? I love this game! I always have. I never complained. ...Really!
