    • A desperate need of assistance!!

It's been a long while since I've played Escape Velocity, from my old Macintosh computer. Even through it was an old model ( IIsi ), and the processor was extremely slow, the game still played wonderfully.

I was wondering if there was a way to download EV on a PC/Pentium computer. I doubt it, but if there is, please tell me! EV is certainly the best computer game I've ever played, and I'm dying to play it on my 500 pentium 3.

Provide a way, and I will worship thee forever.

BTW, on the subject of which side is better, the confeds or rebels. Overall, the Rebellion has it good. However, I have to disagree with Rebel and Confed cruisers. You can modify Confed cruisers to a point where you can easily evade missles and torpedos. Sure, heavy rockets are fine, but how are you gonna counter several torpedos shot at you from a long distance?

Other than that, any Rebellion fleet would easily overmatch the Confeds any day. With their cloaking device, tractor beam, cheap yet effective manta fighters, and cheap yet effective destroyers, the Conderate forces would surely succumb under the Rebellion.

From hell's heart (and the dank underbelly of the EVO board) I bring you this web adress, w/ a long set of instructions:
      (url="http://"http://hammerand.virtualave.net/ev/install/pcee.html")http://hammerand.vir...stall/pcee.html(/url)

      Cut and paste away.
Though the rebel ships are more effective for their price (usually), the Rebellion has less resources to work with (remember, they don't have centuries of raping natural resources behind them) and so it evens out. The confeds can afford to produce a frigate for every destroyer, despite the frigate's oh-so-bloated cost. At least, that's my take on the war 🙂 Also, confed cruisers go too slow for me. I hate taking off from a planet then needing like a half an hour just to get away from the systems center 🙂
