i hired an escort and captured a ship and it became an escort of mine, now i don't want them anymore. for some reason i can't find out how to get rid of them, and can you sell the ships that you capture?

If you would like to get rid of your escorts then you simply hold the option key and scroll to your escort (it will say escort and the box around them is green) Sorry no you can't sell your escorts

The answers to all your questions are right there in the game documents if you would only look.

No, you cannot sell ships you capture.

You get rid of escorts by hailing them and clicking on the button that says "release from servitude."
