      I connect and it says to hit the new user button to create an account, but I can't find that button...

      I am registered what's going on???

      most likely scenario is the user you are using was created before you registered... You cannot then use the stockmarket with this user.... it's like you can't install new LANs with an existing user.. Uplink creates the world based on settings when the user is created and these settings aren't easily altered
