When I try to login for the first test mission it tells me my access code of username is incorect when I enter it. I know it is correct because I typed very slowly when I got a new ID and tried again. is this because I am not registered. It should let me see a little more that that.

You do not have an account with that server. It's the Test Server, meaning you're meant to hack into it, to prove that you can do other missions. Get a password breaker, and use it on the login.
