    • Weird Diagonals and access

This is funky. Whenever I make a tile with half one ground type and half another, like grass and dirt, and the dividing line goes diagonally, it appears on the game ans just a one-type square block. Also, The red zones in access mode are like 3 tiles up. Could someone please help me?

Hi Dragon Pilot, welcome to the boards. I think this is also a tile size problem (I just answered your neighboring post). The movement tiles are usually 32 x 32 pixels, and when the new map editor opens up, the ground tiles are pre-set the same. But ground tiles are usually 96 x 96 pixels. Now if you draw a diagonal from top right to bottom left, the top left corner of 32 pixels square will be all one type. Set your ground tiles to 96 x 96 pixels. You may have to start a new map to do this. With the movement tiles and the ground tiles in the right ratio, the access areas should now line up correctly. ~RD

Either that, or he's stumbled onto the evil Map Access Layer bug. In this bug, the access layer and the event layers all shift themselves by about 1-2 tiles to the right and down from their placement in the editor, or by 1-2 tiles to the left and up. Basic ally, it's impossible to make maps, because you can't tell where any of your access layers or event actions will appear.

I've had this bug a few times. The only way around it was to delete the map, and reinstall Coldstone. And even then, it don't always work.

    • Do you absolutely have to start a new map to change the tile size or get rid of the bug? I kinda want to try not to. I don't think I have the bug because my events are in the correct position. Thanks for the help anyways.

I just checked this out. On the left side of the map editor is a button named "tools." Hold this down and select "change map dimensions" and this will bring up the box for "change map attributes" which will allow you to set map size, movement tile size, and ground tile size. I hope this works for you. ~RD
