      How does this work?

      I apoligize if this question has been asked already, but here goes.

      How do you 'connect' a ship resource to a shan? I haven't noticed any fields like 'Ship Shan #:' or anything. I thought maybe the ship resource and the shan would have the same ID number, but then what about different ships with the same shan (such as upgrades)?

    • Same ID number is the thing.

      Other then that i have no clue. You´d better wait for some more experienced to answer.

      Duplicate the shän and give the copy the ID of the upgraded ship. Multiple shäns can point to the same rlë_ resources, so having duplicate shäns isn't a big deal in terms of disk space.

      You could have found out the answers to both questions by looking at the resources in the EV Nova datafiles carefully.

    • Thanks for the help. And Weepul, yeah, I probably should have done that. I just remember (I think) in EV and EVO that you put the sprite # in a field, and was thinking it'd be something like that in Nova.

    • If both shän point to the same base sprites, the second ship also uses the same miscellany (shiyard PICT, target PICT) ship images, saving also this space.
