    • Making escorts

Is there a way, through a mission or something, to make a group of ships your escorts? Okay, let me rephrase that: is there a way, through a mission, to make a group of ships act as if you had captured or hired them? I know how to make a mission give you escorts, but they are selectable through the normal targeting scanner, so they just get in the way of targeting specific ships. Is there a way to make them act like normal escorts so you can't normally target them?

    • You could create a copy of the ship you want to use and turn on the the "Cannot be targeted" flag. Then create a dude using that ship and use that dude as your escort.

    • I'm a total novice, and could be completely wrong, but... the Nova Bible mentions a flag in the dude resource that would make certain ships untargettable. Maybe this would work.

0x0100 Ships of this dude type can't be hit by the
player and their shots can't hit the player
(useful for things like AuxShip mission
      escorts, etc.)
