    • Also, remember that life gets in the way. Based upon your stated age, I would figure you to have many more years of school ahead. School, whether you like it or not, is a big time commitment, and will eat into any and all personal projects you have going. Second, and try not to take this the wrong way, you have a lot of growing up to do. Just as Martin Turner said above, mission #80 will feel far different than mission #2, and you will have come so far as a writer that you'll be disappointed or even embarassed with your early works.

As an example, my own TC has gone through four major re-writes in six years, with a complete set of graphics discarded due to maturation by the time of completion. At the moment, 90% of the work I've done on it is in the form of hand-written notes and sketches. I hope to have it done sometime in the next three or four years, preferably before EV's popularity wanes to the point where years of work would have a rediculously tiny audience. Even should that happen, the self-satisfaction of having it done would be incredible.

Which brings me to my next and final point--If you grow to hate your own scenario, it's time to do something else.

look kid, most of us appreciate the fact that you want to make a TC, nearly noone does nowadays, so thats a good thing. But most of the newbs that have never seen hex codes or 3D modelling and that want to make the hugest TC ever, almost always drop it somewhere along the way, so i suggest you starts with very small plugs. I dunno, grab a graphic from the game and do an alternative version of a ship, or make a planet next to earth, stuff like that. We just dont want to see you get disappointed and go away. This is just like veteran soldiers treated replacements in WW2, and its for the same reason.

    • And having a go at you feeds our ego's, making us feel like more whole human beings. Just bear with us, we'll be satisfied soon! 🙂

    • I would love to do a TC. However, I know how much goes into making one. I helped out with three for Age of Kings (Rise of Rome, Rage of the Dutch Monk and Starwars, if you have heard of them) and while graphics were a bit harder, programming was way easier. I'm currently working on the universe for my proposed TC. Currently I've put in about fifty hours of development for the universe alone and I'm taking a bunch of friends through a role playing game before I even open up an editor. Now, hopefully it'll run to completion, but I'm not making any promisses because I realize the enormity of the tast ahead of me. The one thing I must say is that reading through the EVN Bible, it's amazing just how much has been put in that was left out. While I'm sure a number of these are artifacts of design, many are also there for dev use, and that's pretty cool.
