thanx thedecline, but what im trying to say is that the sun will have gradual damage, like it'll slowly deplete the shields the closer you get to it and if youre right over it you will a lot more damage, but what ill TRY to do is make it so that it wont kill you, and like the reason i wanted to put it in another system was because i wanted to make in individual govt, like independent, and also i wanted to add mercury and venus and maybe a space station. Also if you remember correctly none of the planets scale correctly, especially jupiter to earth so, i dont see whats wrong. I'm ganna post a list of the stuff i wanna add,

Hi, I've been experimenting with the sun idea too. All I can say is dont set the gravity above 2, otherwise all the big ships will never be able to get away from the sun.

Matt Burch has told me never to use the "gravity" feature in a system that has AI ships, because the AI can't handle it.

heres a list of the stuff i plan to add to the system:

- Sun, mercury, Venus, maybe a space station(need the pict or resedit file for each)
- SLOW gradual ship damage, like 5-6 % every 20-30 sec's (Radiation) (Prolly change this later, what do you guys think?)
- Might have puire static interference due to heat
- Might have AI ships in system
- Private govt. Solar govt
- Hyperoid's (only because according to evula's survival guide, these beings are pure energy, so)
- New ship, "Burning starbridge", basically this ship is sold either on the sun(dont you eve ask about landing) or on mercury, it has different properties compared to the other starbridges, like it can regenerate sheilds faster, has more space, and comes with melee weapons like the solar lance or other ones, and also is much faster(maybe the fastest), and you can count on it being more expensive, not too much though :D.
-- Might have variants if i get time to do this.
- Planetary defense fleets will consist of many of these ships and probably will be very hard to conquer, giving some pros a challenge, unless of course they have escorts, or fighter bays, but ill make sure its a challenge to kill these ships.

-Obviously i have a lot of work here so this wont be out for a while. Also I could use some help on this especially for that burning starbridge, and the planets(not as much here hopefully) Mainly i need the pict or resedit files for the starbridge(preferibly pict) basically i need a reg size starbridge in a shade of burning red, make sense? If anyone here knows a site i can goto to ask someone for it please let me know, thanx

Hey Vaumnou, im having some minor probs with the "burning starbridge," file you sent me, i cant open it, well to view anyway, like what program do i use, resedit, mission computer, novatools? or what other program

Actually, isn't there a way to change the color of ships? Or is that just for the pers resource?

bothater, should you not be able to get Vaumnou's graphic to work (although I hope you do figure it out..) another option would be to go to the addons page and download the program "EnRLEDeRLE" from the utilities section. Then open your "Nova Files" folder inside your EV Nova folder. Grab "Nova Ships 1" and drag it on top of the DeRLE application. Click ok when the dialog box comes up. This will open the graphics of a large number of ships for you to view as sprites.. Open the starbridge in Photoshop or some other graphics-editing program, save a copy of it as the Burning Starbridge (or whatever), and make your changes to it. If you're adding something that stickks out over the edges of the previous Starbridge, you'll have to make a new mask, by editing the Starbrdge mask (just put some more white wherever your image is). Save it in PICT format (you may have to "Save as..." to do this). Do the same for any changes you want to make to the starbridge engine flare. Open up your plugin and create a new resource of type pict. Open your Burning Starbridge, it's mask, the engine flare, and it's mask. Copy each of them into the resource, give them a new resource id (so that they don't overlap with the existing ships.. The first unused id is 1750). Then create a shän resource (the first unused number is 406) and follow the directions in the Nova Bible for filling out the shän resource. Make a new Resedit file. Copy your PICT resource and shän resource into it. Save and close this new file. Drag it on top of the "EnRLE" application. Click Okay. Open the rleD and rle8 files in Resedit. Copy the rleD and rle8, and one of the shäns (it doesn't matter which..) into your plug. Delete the pict, create a shďp resource (first unused is 406, name it the same as you did your shän), follow the directions for filling it out, and you're done! It won't have a picture for the shipyard or a hiring description, but you can find information on that in the Nova Bible.

As a side note, please try to use correct grammar and spelling. When you use abbreviations like "ur" (your? you're?), not only is it difficult for the rest of the world to tell what you mean, but it makes us so irritated we don't want to help, too, and we automatically assume that you are incapable of using correct grammar, perhaps slighting your intelligence. Now, we wouldn't want that, would we?

You need to extract it with Stuffit and then open it with ResEdit.
