I was under the impression that Nova PICT resources should be saved as 16 bit graphics rather than 32. I tried 16 and the PICT (for a new interface) just showed as black. I've used 32 bits/pixel before and it showed up only occasionally gray would was over the entire screen unless actual graphics in that spot where moving.

    • As I remember it, Nova only supports 8- and 16-bit graphics. 8-bit graphics are stored as PICT and rlë8 resources, and the 16-bit graphics are stored as rlëD's.

Do you have the correct settings in the ďntf resource(I think that is the one for interfaces). The correct settings for the spďn(probably already do, but it can't hurt to ask).

    • Untrue. PICT resources can have any bit depth you like. Typically you would use a 32-bit PICT which the game would downsample to 16 bits in the engine, but I don't see why a 16-bit image wouldn't work provided you could find a codec for it.

Give BlitZen a try if you haven't already. It's useful for this sort of thing.

    • I've looked over the resources a couple times and everything seems to be fine. (I'm sure there's that one typo or whatever somewhere though - there always is.) Anyway, I'll figure it out.

As far as the screen getting washed over... has this happened to anyone else? Course I haven't been able to get the new intf to work again but just in case I ever do, I'd like to be able to correct the wash if it happens again.
