Well, the porting has already been done twice (three times if you inculde my plug Paralell Universe). So I would recommend taking one of the already-made portings and include it with your expansion plug (with the permission of the author, of course).

I thought of that, but remember playing those ports, and getting the sense they weren't done entirely properly. I also don't want to muck around with permissions. Besides, I can throw in a few extra touches of my own.

A port using EVO 1.0.2 features has not been made.

That would be cool. Missiles with smoke trails and everything.
