    • weapons and fuel usage


      Well here's and idea that i was thinking about for a long time, tell me what you think.
      Since EVO 1.0.2 a weapons can have 2 weapon types assigned to it. If let's say a weapon called a phaser ( phasers are energy based weapons, i presume.) uses an amount of fuel/energy you would get a extra dimension to the game. You could make the phaser stronger than normal EVO weapons but when fuel/energy is depleted you have to wait till the fuelscoops added new fuel. All ships would be standard outfitted fuelscoops and recharge rate would be higher. No more "insuficient fuel for hyperspace jump" ( did'nt like that anyway)

      I've tried it and if the scoops and weapons usages are ballanced it would be quite cool.
      This could be added to torpedoes and other projectiles (firing these could also use fuel)
      Don't know if this possible cause i've also tried it but it did'nt work the first time.

      Please tell me if the idea rocks or s*cks.

    • If you're going to add a fuel scoop to a weapon to balance out its fuel usage, what's the point of having the weapon use fuel in the first place? Furthermore, it could be considered a cheat because the whole point of making weapons (Especially beams) use fuel is to limit their effectiveness. That way, even if you have an amazingly powerful weapon, you can only use it for a short while, so it balances out.
