My votes for worst plugins?

Frozen Heart - yes, I know many EV:Oers wont agree, but when you're used to EV graphics Frozen Hearts odd rotation system gets on your nerves in about 2 minutes, also the mission structure is somewhat disjointed.
New Horizons - Storyline was execellant. Pitty the graphics let it down.

As for my plugin, What If, I'll be posting some pics here soon-ish. I'm just going to do some more modeling

My god, YES! I can't say bad things about this plug because I've never played it, but THAT's the reason I never did! Awesome landing picts, though.

It's not bad. The graphics annoyed me, but the storyline was pretty damn good tho... I'd like to see what MT comes up with this time around... some of the ideas in that plug were excellent

Just as an aside in FH, change the plug slightly and put two black holes in the same system... that's quite fun (as long as you stay out of the way)

A few other notorious examples:
Nova - yes folks, before there was an EV3, there was Nova, the original plugin that eventually became EV:N. Begun in 1998, Nova has taken a long time to develop indeed, and the last pictures of Nova I remember (before it was EV3) were way in the DiscBoard days, with little since known except idle speculation and rumors until ASW made the official announcement. But Nova is actually gonna be finished now, and man is it gonna be cool.

Quantumire: Return - spectacular graphics, sequel to one of the most famous total conversion plugins in EV history from one of the most noted plugin designers... what more could you ask for?

Bugs.

Quantumire: Return is famous for being one of the most buggy plugins in EV history - inserting the plugin essentially makes the game unplayable.

However, Quantumire Special Edition is coming out for EVO, and it will fix all those problems, and more - check out the link in my sig.

I think New Horizons is awesome! Yes, it's 20 megs ('cause of the graphics) but it is totally cool!

Here's a question for you guys. I'm thinking of merging EV with EVO. Should I modify the damage for EVO, leave it the same, or what?

Worst plugs:

Voyager-- damaged! The only copy I could find is corrupted.
All star trek plugs in general.
SW is pretty bug-filled, but hey! There are about 5 diffrent versions of it!

I second that. The rule to ignore the most is the one about download size. If your plug is good, people will download it. Period. Even if it means burning out the LED on their 14.4. Well, maybe. I mean, MAGMA has well over 6000 downloads and is over 5 megs... you get the idea. Just have fun and be original.

the original EV star wars plug was NOT that bad... it had alot of information pertinant to that particular universe, and it sited all the resources there were.

the graphics were fairly accurate and pretty nice, per se, and the story wasn't all that bad (as far as i could play it before the bugs got me.)

unfortunatly, i felt that the universe could stand to be redrawn. the ships were too easy to get, and didnt have enough "special" outfits; the millennium falcon was a corellian freighter with a ton of illegal upgrades, but the game made the freighter (in mint condition) more powerful than it should have been. in x-wing collectors edition (the lucasarts game), it was possible for a very good player to take out a star destroyer piece by piece (fighters, sheilds, a few guns, then blindside it and kill it) but in this game, there was no way to do this because of a lack of blindside.

but then, with the advent of the new EVO, i believe that it's possible to make a better star wars plug, perhaps one that even works, and that lives up to the former games. only problem is that in star wars, you could redirect sheild energy from front to back to even. but perhaps the trade-off there is that the guns in EV fire fast and do not require a resivor of charge.

Any plug which is pure shoot-em-up is the worst.
e.g. go to system A fight 7 Corvettes
go to B fight 22 Kestrels
go to C and fight the entire Alien space navy.
Because FH is a thinking man's plug many people do not appreciate it. I think it the best of some very good plugs.
