    • EV to EVO?

I have heard plenty of posts from the EV community, who wish to have the EVO 1.0.2 engine for EV. But wouldn't it be really easy? Here's the method which I think:

      1. Open Res-Edit and open all the EVO data, sounds ect. (copies of them)
      2. Open all the EV stuff
      3. Delete ALL the contents of the EVO stuff (except the templates)
      4. Copy & Paste all the data from EV into the respective folders (including the splash screen, music and all the other details)
      5. Add a finishing touch by changing the EVO icons to the EV icons (no difference, just looks better)
      6. You have an EV with an EVO 1.0.2 engine!

This is all theory. If it's really this easy, I could do it now in 15 minutes, but I don't want to if it'll be useless. From my view, I can't see anything wrong with it, except maybe if there is an error it will say the wrong thing (ie. "That is not an EVO 1.0.2

    • No. It's not that easy. It IS fairly easy though.

Most of the work has been done for you at the following URL:
      (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Battlefield/8064/EVClassic.html")http://www.geocities.../EVClassic.html(/url)

However, this port was from EV to an earlier version of EVO, so some changes will still need to be made to bring it up to v. 1.0.2.

Specifically, the guided weapons and the corresponding jammers need to be updated with the use of the seeker flags among other things. I did this at one point to update Pale to EVO 1.0.2, but I don't remember off the top of my head what else was involved.

It wasn't too difficult if you know your way around ResEdit.
