    • Setting up a Network...

OK, I was looking at the system requirements for REALBasic today, and I realised that it would run on my LC. I have no means of getting REALBasic from my Rev D. iMac to my LC, so I began to think about setting up a mini network with the iMac as a server. I could use the LC for some late night coding (as it is in my room, and the iMac isn't) and a rip so I can use the precious RAM on my iMac for better uses.

The thing is, I know very little about Networks. I know that I need a network hub, I've got my eye on a hub costing Ł18.49 (about $25) it's a 4port 10Base-T Compact Hub made by NETGEAR. I know that this will let me hook up three macs to a server, but apart from that, I haven't got a clue. What leads do I need? What software do I need? I figured that since you guys are all brainy (not sarcastic) you'd be able to help me...

BTW, I posted this on the B & B as well.

    • You only mention 2 macs so you don't actually need a hub, all you need is an ethernet corssover cable, you need to find out what kind of ethernet conncetion the LC ahs though. I doubt it's the same as the iMac.
