HOW DO I CATCH IT?

If you mean "I've found the fairy but I can't catch it", you need the awareness skill. If you have it you'll be able to see the fairy.

How do I get the Awareness skill? I got the harp for the woman in Fantrima, and she directed me to the P-whatever forest south of the lake, but I'm not able to find the guy (or any area that looks like he should be there). Could I get some help?

Mesera is who you're looking for. He is a chief of a guild of thieves, and he lives deep in a cave in Perugo forest (It's actually more of a tomb on the inside). Go to the forest, south of Varandeep, and follow the roads around...Hint: bear southeast.

Oh, is there somewhere that I can find out exactly what the attributes do? Some are pretty obvious, but others (dexterity, luck) are unclear.
