And yet another secret of EV:O is uncovered to someone who would, likely, have much more fun discovering it for themselves. Tell me, what is the point of a game with a plotline when you would ask such questions - and more importantly, what is the point of a game with secrets and special missions when even people who haven't advanced far into the game know of them? I suppose the latter is down to webboards, but it's still sad, really. It almost makes me glad I discovered the boards years after I played Escape Velocity and Escape Velocity: Override briefly from MacFormat CDs, left to find out everything for myself.
Then again, I've never come close to completing EV:O in the limited time I have played the game (I used to play it on my grandfather's computer once a week, when I went to his house, for half an hour or an hour - I managed quite a lot of the game in that time, which probably exceeded 30 days while only 1/7th of that was a day I played it on, but the knowledge which lets me be here to answer questions is mostly down to the webboards and ResEdit), although I doubt it's exactly a difficult task for someone to complete it, alone.
Arg - I'm rambling again. I'm doing that a lot lately, it seems. Anyway, more relevant - <growls at self> - you should enter these missions with thought. Don't succumb to the mindless syndrome of following strict orders that happens so often (you are a bad guy, now kill Solidus anyway - Metal Gear Solid II), and keep thinking. If you need another hint, think about a place nearby where information of a darker sort might be available, and also the nature of the kidnapping.
Luck.

What SD said I think.

I'm one of those lucky people who didn't know about the web-board community until I had already played EV:O to death, and I suspect it was a lot more fun that way. One day, after completing EV:O's objectives more than once, I thought, "I wonder if there's anybody else out there who likes EV:O" ... ask a silly question. I've been stuck on these boards ever since!

Yeah, I know. Sorry - it seems whenever I'm on my grandfather's computer, with that huge, flatscreen monitor, I rant. I'm even surprised that was coherent, to be honest. <grin>
