    • Does it work?

I was cruising the internet at school and I ran across a link to (url="http://"http://www.ardi.com/exe_win_escapevelocity.php")this picture.(/url)
I was just wondering if it actually works (look at the title bar). Does anyone know? This is not that important, I was just curious.

    • For now, it works. Our secret society of the Prevention of Good Games on Windows (which isn't particularly secret) is trying to destroy all Mac emulators worldwide, but until then, this blasphemy will exist.

    • While ARDI's Executor will run Override, that screenshot is fake - where does that picture appear except during loading - WHERE THERE IS A LOADING BAR BELOW IT 🙂

    • It'll work, but it is extremely slow and takes a lot of trouble to install it, as well as taking up a ton of memory. Anybody interested should just buy an old PPC mac. Currently what I have.

    • Hehe, actually if you use Executor and don't change the screen update to animation, the progress bad does not display on the startup screen - but it is funny that the people who should know that have a picture up without it :).

Anyway, it's been said before, and will be again. There is a better emulator - Basilisk II - forummer WarBeast wrote a tutorial for setting it up.. I don't have the URL on me at the moment, but if you search for similar topics - I think you can at the moment - it shouldn't be too hard to find. I've told enough people posting here about it... but that was before I returned from the dark side and bought a new iBook :)!

    • There's no possibility of PC users being able to play Nova, is there? Does Basilisk II run it? We loyal Mac users must do something about this dangerous thing known as an "emulator".

Maybe those with emulators already know the inherent superiority of the Mac and wanted to have a taste of it.

    • Heh.. if you have a look on the Nova web board, there are a few claims of people being able to run it under emulation with Basilisk II, using OS 8.1 - the latest accepted on 68k machines.. I don't have what I need to try that though. Either way, I'm tending to think that they're better off just having EVO, and being able to do more than one lot of missions in a game :frown:. I'm thinking of playing EVO again - I've never actually played it on a mac that can really handle it - LC III not really 🙂 - and when I tried it, I found it goes much faster than I've ever played it!

I would have to dissagree with you. Just because theese people who use PCs are greatly lost and confused by the media, does not mean that they should be denied to enter the light of the Mac, and be freed from the sins of Windows that have been blinding them and keeping them from the truth. If they are able to be given the life of the mac, then the universe will take one more step to becoming te divine self it was designed to be. with the emulators, we are able to reach out and witness to the PC users, and maby someday, the EV series might be able to unite the world in peace and harmony.

OK, at what point did I loose you?

Do you not think that emulators allow the rest of the computer using world the opportunity to run and maybe register Ambrosia's games? Do you deny that this would be a good thing?

The hell it does, true it places more demand on the system than it would on a mac but most decent PCs are up to it. My laptop has a p500 processor and 64mb RAM with Basilisk II installed, it runs EV and EV:O just fine.
It doesn't take up much HD space either, mac programs are generally a lot smaller than their windows equivalents due to more elegant programming, so I'm told.
And emulators aren't difficult to install either, just follow (url="http://"http://www.geocities.com/game_master107/howtoemulateamac.html")WarBeast's(/url) simple instructions.

For the record, I firmly believe that macs are superior to PCs, however it is a very blinkered view to assume that the emulation of mac games is a bad thing. Remember that not everyone who uses a PC does so by choice (although granted they often do so through ignorance).
