Actually, not a single person here has gotten it correct yet. The foreground ships are obviously UE ships.(A destroyer and fighters) The ships on the right are very badly angled versions of Voinian Frigates, as is the ship being destroyed. As for the big blue vessel, believe it or not, it's actually a Voinian Cruiser. Take a minute and look at the actual pict in ResEdit, you can see the sharp, curved wings and general shape, just with a strange elongate front, and colored an odd blue. And the small ships beneath the Cruiser are also Voinian Frigates. You can see clearly the shaped wings and elongated neck. No Renegades, just UEs versus Voinians.

I have examined the image of which you speak. It clearly displays a battle group of heroic Voinian ships, being subjected to a cowardly sneak-attack by the hated United Earth forces.
Obviously, this was early in the war, when our vessels employed a turquiose colour scheme. Sustained hyperspace time has long-since scoured this paint from our hulls.

I think we can establish the ships in the bottom right... look on the destroyer's wing
Ditto the Voinian frigates on the leftHowever, Im puzzled about the blue thing in the centre. Im not at all sure about it. It could be a voinian cruiser, but the cruiser (As we know it) is 'flatter' than that. (Bomb, Im not doubting you, but look at the comms pictures in the EVO graphics... the cruiser doesnt have wings that bend down, neither does it have the rear-mounted cannons)
It is obviously NOT a human renagade... look at the turncoat -- is much rounder than that... besides. The turncoat has huge airvents on the side (which IMHO, look awful) this ship doesnt.
To all those people who say 'its a crescent warship' -- what would a crescent warship be doing in voinian space. The crescent warships rarely leave the crescent...
My idea is that it is a ship that never made it to the game (perhaps the dev team dropped it, or Stephen Kody made it up) which just got in somehow...

That blue ship could NEVER be a Voinian Cruiser (and those smaller blue things near it aren't Voinian ships either).

Yes, but by saying that, you're wrong. It's actually 4 Voinian Frigates. I don't know where you see fighters. Take a very close look at the small ships, and you'll see they're almost certainly not fighters.
Gildor, you have a point, but look at the ship, and you'll see that it's a very, very lenient artist's interpretation of the Voinian Cruiser. Check out the wings. The Voinian Cruiser has sharp fin wings, just as this ship does, only to a lesser angle. That, and it's not blue, and the front nose thing is much shorter and less sharp. You also have another good point about it not being a CW, since early in the game, that's the UE-Voinian war is the main, and only storyline until you explore the rest of the galaxy.
And just ignore Andrew M. He's currently operating at his full level of little-kid annoyingness. But wait, that's how he acts all the time.

One other thing- on top of the blue ship are three bump/guns. On top of the Voinian Cruiser are three pyramid shapes with neutron turrets on them. In fact, having Infini-D 4.5, I opened the Voinian Cruiser files and made a 3-D spďn of the ship, and if anyone wants to see it, I'll upload it when I get time. It shows quite clearly the similarities.

Seriously though, I can just about see the VC in it...
Im no too sure about the things below it -- if they are frigates, then they are very small! they could be stylised heavy fighters, which would make a lot of sense (big cruiser launching little ships...) I dont know.-Gildor
