Alright, heres the story. I just got a sweet new Corvette, and juiced it up REAL nice. (Ship trade in valued at 1.72M Credits). I really wanna take over a planet, something weak like Kathoon or Gymkata first, BUT my combat rating is 2 low. Its a 'dangerous', ive been trying 2 raise it for DAYS (not game time), and now matter how many damn pirates i whoop, my rating WONT raise!!! Any suggestions?

Days, if only game time, are not enough. Try weeks of constant Pirate hunting, or even months. You havent been able to get Deadly because the rating increasing reguirement from Dangerous to Deadly is ludicrous.

6,400 Dangerous
12,800 Deadly

See? You need 6, 400 kills more to get Deadly. Because even Corvettes have only a crew 37, the only way is to hunt Kestrels, they have a crew of 96. Difficult, with Torpedoes and 2 Lightnings? Definitely. But its the only way to raise rating quick.

One place you should go to for a lot of pirates is the Darven system. Just land if there are no pirates. I got my combat rating from mostly harmless to deadly I think in about a half hour (It was many years ago that I did this ;)). If you want something more challenging just hang out at any pirate system and jump in and out.

Yeah. Here's a tip: When dealing with Kestrels, get the Kestrel to launch all it's torpedos and the Lightnings to launch their guided missiles. The easiest way to do this is to fly in circles around the ships until they've launched everything. Then run from the Lightnings. Slow down every so often, until the Lightnings are close. Open fire with your turrets. Keep repeating these steps until you've got the Lightnings. Then go after the Kestrel. It's not too tough on it's own, just formidable with it's Lightnings. Use these steps, and you'll have no problem. The fact you've got a Corvette is even better, you're very quick. Have fun out there!

Speaking of EVula, i downloaded some ships from the saber studios shipyard, put all the images and junk into my plugins folder. They didnt work...?:S

Hmm, that is something that I should duplicate over in the EV Survival Guide, I suppose... maybe the next time I actually update the guide, I'll do that.

The Shipyards are for plugin developers; you can't just download the ships and expect them to work, you have to create a plugin for the ship graphics to go into.

try going into palshife, and attack every non rebel ship, no one craes but the confedrates(does'nt effect rating with them), and bounty hunters. The take whatever you want from them, and then blow up their ships
