Hey i too recall the good old days of Final Battle however i never got to see the plug in to its end. I need your help please.. I am at the mission where I have to pick up refugees at Kahtoom. I have a Rebel Crusier the big one. And i am unstopable but i can't do this mission and go on with the story there is some sort of bug. How do i fix this i did download regeidit. And why can't we make our own Final Battle 2??

Okay. First things first. I need you to fire up the game and tell me exactly what the mission is called. (Hit the mission info key and copy down the name of that particular mission) I'll pick through ResEdit and let you know how to fix it (Or just publish a patch).
As for Final Battle 2: I worked for about a year on it with the creator of the original Final Battle, our old WebBoard admin, Evan Prestly (Skyhawk). He got a bit overzealous and decided to program his own engine. He disappeared years ago with no word. There's no real reason we can't make a final battle 2... It's just that most people don't view it as being worth the effort.

I think I was about where you are when a bug prevented me from continuing. I emailed the creator about it, but that was three years ago and I never got a reply.
I'm with AJ on FB2...it sucked too much to have a sequel.

Ok thanks AJ let me go and get to that ppiont again in my game i started it over cause i thought it might have been some glitch in my save path. I already have completed the mission with the aliens with the Rebels. However i don't know where i can get the Rebel Carrier anymore. I can't find that big ship. Do i have to complete some other mission before i can get the rebel carrier? Not the crusier but the Carrier i can get everyother rebel ship except the carrier for some reason. I am trying to remember if i need to do someother mission before i can get it. Ohh and AJ once i get back to that piont i will give you the missions name. thanks alot for your help.

Ya know... It's been so long since I played Final Battle that I'm not really sure how to get the Rebel Carrier. When you do reach that point again, post the information in this topic if It's not too far down the board. Otherwise, Just throw my name into the topic and I'll keep an eye out for it. I check the boards Monday - Friday.

Hey ok i got the Rebel Carrier the way you do it is by conquering the Confed planets after conquering the enoy fel factory you get the ablity to get the Rebel carrier. That and beleve me you need it when you try to take over Ruby. OK AJ now i am stuck at the glich again the missions name is called second threat. I have to pick up refugees but the game won't allow me too. Once again the name is called Second threat.

Alright. Little bit of bad news. I can't decompress the version of Final Battle available in the add-ons section of this site. It simply dies at the end of the decompression and the file I get is corrupted. I've got an archived and working copy at the office so I can take care of it on Monday. I apologize for the delay and I hope you havn't lost interest yet.
Also, I neglected earlier to welcome you to the boards so I'd like to do so now. It's always nice to see new faces around; especially those with a decent sense of spelling and grammar =P. I'd recomend you just have fun. There are a few other boards I strongly recomend you check out: The well-moderated EV Image Gallery is a great place for some eye-candy and comments and is probably one of the more organized places for giving and recieveing plugin advice.

I have the same symptoms as AJ has. I can't decompress the Final Battle plug. Oh how I would love to play the plug.

I had a problem with FB as well... when I got to the "Destroy Stardock Alpha" mission, no matter what I did with ResEdit or EVedit(don't kill me), I couldn't get it to work.

Sounds like FB is really buggy then if several people have had trouble with it. I didnt even know what it was about... it seems to bring the Rebel battle to a end. You finally destroy the Confeds. Luckily AJ will fix it. Who knows... I might even try it after its fixed. Interesting idea atleast.

AJ thanks for all your help with everything.. I don't mind the delay at all. For those of you who haven't played FB yet I highly recomend it. I love the ships in it. Espically the Rebel Carrier and the story isn't that bad. AJ i was wondering how can I get web space? Ohh by the way thanks for the Welcome. Are there any other plugins that people recomend?

By getting a ISP that offers you web space for your website. Or getting a hosting service. Pale, Empire series by Tim Isles, Frozen Heart... There is so many great plugs. Mugabi and Destiny sounds good too. It has a interesting idea: fighting the Aliens further than just one mission.
