    • Now I will correctly answer ALL your questions to the closest I think humanly possible

      1. I am trying to defeat the aliens in the alien mission and cannot do it. No weapon I possess or have tried seems to work. I have the particle beam.

      TIP: You need a kestrel to do this if you are a novice. Get the tractor beam by doing ALL the astrodyne outpost missions, (there are more after you blow up the station) The weapon transport is in an un-inhabited system near tiber. (not castor) Sell everything, and get 3 proton turrets, and some primary weapons. Go close to the alien cruiser, activate your tractor beam, the alien cruiser won't be able to move. Just hold down the fire button untill it's dead, and wait for it to blow before you leave. DO NOT TRY TO KILL THE ALIEN FIGHTERS, they are invincible (almost) with the weapons available in Origional EV)

      2. How can I get the tractor beam or the cloaking device.

      3. Is the alien mission the last confederation mission.

      Basicly, yes. The rebel alien mission, however, does not require all rebel missions to be done. (there are still minor missions not linked though...)

      4. If question 3 is true, then are there other missions in the orginial, i.e. for the rebellion.

      I'm not sure what you mean by that, but you can't get rebel missions without hacking if you di dthe first confed one. What you can do at the start of the game, is getting the rebel parcel mission, don't complete it though, you can get the confed on by getting a good legal status in sol.

      5. How can I change sides so that the rebellion offers me missions.

      You can't. The change sides mission doesn't take advantage of the clear visbit feature, so you will NEVER be able to get rebel missions. That was in 1.0.4. It MIGHT be different in 1.0.5, but I really doubt it. To do rebel/confed missions, just open the data file with resedit, open the "m•sn" resc file, select the mission desired, "Transport Confed Documents" or "Transport Rebel Parcels" and open it. Change the AVAILSTEL to 20002 (any inhabited planet with a bar) And the AVAILABITSET to -1 (might want to make availrandom 100 too).

      6. Lastly, I completed the Artemis mission, do they offer anymore missions?

      nope. Try "pale" though, great plug with many extra missions.

      As for the alien fighters, i think they are not that invincible, even with the standard EV weapons. As you said yourself you just have to have tractor beam.

      I have a question!

      In New Horizons, after the alien concusness rises into another dimention, are there more missions?

      Could you e-mail (and or post) me if you know anything.

    • 1. No, you must be using a plug alter the switch sides mission. You get that mission at any system of the government that sirgil III has.

      2. No there aren't, and that is why the plug suks. (you can get a misn to collapse the confederation, though)

    • Hey Cotton Mouse, you must not remeber it correctly. You HAVE to destroy the Confeds to get the Outpost Rana missions!

      P.S. I've now completed the gravimetric sheild missions.

      P.P.S Look in EV Data if you think there isn't a Switch Sides mission!

    • There is a switch sides mission. It just doesn't clear the bit of the starting confed missions. I have tried for days and I have not gotton the parcel mission for the rebels. Try it, I bet it wont work.

      I know you are sick of answering questions, but I've have to know something.
      I played EV(classic) on a Mac in the past, now I use an emulator to play it on my Windows-PC. In the past I think it was possible to have more than 2 Lightnings and 2 Hawks with a Kestrel-ship. If you know how to get more than this 4 fighters or you know that it definitely won't work anymore, please send reply.

      Two ways I know of:

      You disable another lightning, use a tractor beam to pull it into the ship. You can also have your fighters out of the ships bay while landing on a planet, and then buy two more giving you four, and repeating this, eventually inviting them back into the bay.

      Two quick things: Don't bring back up dead topics, please. I understand that you are unregistered, and your intentions were good, but you could have posted it in a more recent topic than one that died over three years ago.

    • It wont work now. In the Outfit area in Resedit, there is a tag for the lightning/hawk that says: Max ammo (ship): 2. So you cant get more then 2 of any of them unless you hack into the data file and change it.
      If you want to get more ships in a bay check out GS. Its awsome beyond belief!
