    • Tricks with the Mission Computer

Did you notice that if you don't like the missions shown on the Mission Computer, you can replace the list of missions on it by pressing "i" and aborting even if you don't have a mission? I thought it was interesting and was wondering if it was a bug or the developers meant to put that in.

    • I doubt it was put in there intentionally, but that doesn't make it a bug. It's probably just one of those things that happens. It's neither good nor bad.

    • Yeah, I've known about that for years. Very perceptive of you, though.

    • It's a semi-cheat, but doing this will allow you to get another shot at getting a bar mission without jumping out and back into the system.

    • If you do that while having escorts, they leave you.

    • Same effect as going to a different stellar in the same system and then return?

He said same effect, so the answer is yes. However, you are correct, it would take more time.

One of my very favourite little tricks, I'll say. Just a note: if you ever play EVO, don't try the trick with the Miranu (they really don't like it, and little is quite as annoying as having just started with a new pilot and suddenly finding Miranu space closed to you.)

As -esw-dragoon (how does one shorten your name further - esw, dragoon, something else entirely?) said, though, very perceptive of you.

Am I posting in Just Chat or B&B;? If so, I'm probably joking.

    • I use this trick all the time. I prefer tuning my list of missions for maximum gain this way. (After six or seven accept/aborts, the Mission Computer reads, "No Missions Available.")

That's life. No ... actually "That's EV" is more correct.

    • Oh my god!! thats the reason why all 6 of my rebel cruisers disapear. Thank you Nebula Roamer. You have solved a problem that has bugged me for many years!!!! I can play Ev without no problems now.

    • Though you should be careful when doing this with some of the Empire plugins as they can radically change your legal status with the main government. Sometimes you become a pillar of society, but most of the time you become Most Wanted or Public Enemy. If you are using one of these plugs, just accept a passenger run or a cargo run and then abort it. It has the same effect and there is no penalty for aborting the mission.

(edit)And you don't have to worry about your escorts dissapearing(/edit)

I do not smirk. But if I did, this would be an excellent opportunity to do so.

    • Disable, board, capture. Use the space bombs!!!! You have to realize that space bombs are the strongest weapons (without cheating). When you lay a couple of space bombs the opponent dies. You barely lose any shield because its quick combat and there you are a disabled rebel cruiser and you have your shield (you have a higher chance of capturing ships). also space bombs are the sollution to making quick credits. space bombs rule!!!!

    • I have a list of all the EV cheats (well I think, that is what the site said...), and that wasn't one of them I think its a mistake in the code.
