Well, everybody says it is, but I digress. I like my shuttlecraft. I usually don't upgrade until I have the credits to buy a Corvette. I like its boxy appearence, I like its dismal offensive armament of 3 laser cannons, I like having to Monty Python Pirate Argosies. What are your opinions on the Shuttlecraft? Do you like it or hate it?

I usually try to get out of the Shuttlecraft as quickly as possible...but I do kinda like the looks of the boxy little thing. It reminds me of a Ford Pinto I used to own.

Unless your name is "The Creator," shuttlecraft are a waste of time.
However, it is fun to attempt all the rebel and confed missions in one. I'm not sure if the Alien Cruiser mission is possible or not though. I would guess no due to low weapon ouput vs. high shield recharge rate.

It is impossible. Proton bolts have longer range than laser rounds. Plus, it has 4 Patrol Ships. Are you bragging, Zax?? :rolleyes:

Nope, I swear I did, after several failed attempts in Arena (the plug-in), I managed to take out a 'Fed cruiser. You can Monty Python ships with proton bolts with laser cannons, and the range of a proton turret is less than that of a proton cannon. If you want to know how, I had 1 mass expansion, 3 laser cannons and 2 javelin launchers, all the manoeverability upgrades and a radar jammer. If you want to have an easier time taking out 'Fed Cruisers, set the speed below 60% in the preferences menu. If you do that it can't turn, so you can't get hit with its neutron blasters (not that I used that cheat).

A nice thing about shuttlecraft is that, if you have a good ship, but not much cash, you can trade, and you'll get some credits-sometimes a appriciatable(excuse the spelling) amount. sorta dumb, but it works.

Shuttles are nice, durable little ships but I find they have no room for improvement and not enough cargo space, and are therefore obsolete.

I don't like the the EV shuttlecraft. The one in EVO rocks, though! I got to deadly in that in a few hours with only 3blaze cannons!(no joke) I get the scoutship as soon as I get enough for it and some upgrades.

I don't exactly hate the standard EV shuttlecraft, I just find it rather restricting. I always save up for a scoutship and then keep it until I can afford a lightning or corvette.

It is possible to monty python a Cruiser with a Shuttle, just not very fun. As for the Alien mission...just make sure you have a tractor beam. It'll take a really long time, but as long as the fighters are occupied, it is possible...

Actually lasers have longer range than proton bolts. Turrets have even shorter range than their cannon counterparts too. And when shooting in the same direction you're moving in the range decreases a little bit.
