Yes, we should be able to pick our own defense fleets, but it didn't say so in the rules, so the Alien players thought that they were doing the same thing. Maybe we could say that Dreden has fallen, all Dreden planets come under the power of the Alien Empire, but the fleets live on until they are destroyed, because it makes sense that the fleets of a government would keep on fighting for freedom until they were destroyed. Hope that all made sense.
If you didn't like what I suggested, then come up with something else that will seem acceptable to both parties. It just seems right to me that the Aliens get Dreden.

/Me wonders if anyone has listened to my side of the story.
As I've said before, I found absolutely nothing wrong with the alien attacks. According to the rules, they got everything right. However, when Vice Admiral Ipvicus made the first post attack against Dreden, I asked him to hold off until I could get Mac to answer a question. Vice Admiral Ipvicus completely disregarded my post, and continued on with the attack. Since he did this, every one of his attack posts had to be voided. Had he stopped when I told him to, none of that mess would have happened. As far as the rules are concerned, the alien players did the right thing. I, for one, just wanted to make sure that the defending player could select a defense fleet and commander. This was not a "new rule," it was just something that Mac never explained... That question would have come up sooner or later anyway. Does any of this make a bit of sense? Obviously not.
We can go ahead and say the aliens got Dreden, but at the same time, they got it without the Dreden even selecting a fleet and commanding it. Therefore, the aliens would get the chance to select their own fleet for the defense of Sentarus Prime, since the rule was past following the attack on Dreden. Now does anyone call this fair? If you alien players call this the definition of fair, well... Check your nearest dictionary.
Again, I would not mind if we said Dreden was captured. I'm just saying that it wouldn't be fair for the aliens to capture it without a defending player controlling the defense fleet, and then have the aliens get to pick their own fleet for when the alliance attacks their own capital.
Philly: Your sound file must not be in the right format. For example, I've tried porting Ares sounds over to EV, but they wouldn't work since Ares has better sound quality.
