When the Aliens jumped in, they immediately attacked. The Dreden were surprised for a minute but they countered very fast. The Aliens attacked the Liberty.

All 6 destroyers came alongside the Liberty and hammered it with Needle Beams, Fusion Particle Beams, Seeker Modules, and Detonator Clusters. Yet they were still no match for the Liberty, who destroyed 3 of them before the rest got away.

The Battle Cruiser was heading strait on the front of the Liberty, when there was a huge blast of light and an explosion. The Battle Cruiser was in two pieces; a Trinity cannon was shot. One piece was hurled at the Liberty, smashing the hull up the ship very badly. One piece hit the cannon that shot the blast and destroyed it.

The two Carriers got gotten onside of a Titan and were beating the heck out of it. Suddenly, the other piece of the Battle Cruiser was hurling at a Carrier. The Carrier was trapped between the Titan and the chunk of metal. If the time that it was not looking at the Titan, the Titan unleashed a barrage of fire and projectiles, knocking out the comm. tower for the Carrier. As it realized this, it tried to move out of the way. But the chunk was moving far too fast, it smashed into the Carrier and destroyed it in a blaze of light. The flame also it the Titan, for it was scorched and damaged it terribly. The other Carrier had managed to get far away. 10 Heavy fighters and 5 Gunboats go next to the damaged Titan and started shooting all projectiles. The Titan could withstand no longer. It exploded in a massive fireball that flung fighters everywhere.

All Alien ships, no matter what kind, flew up to the Liberty and pounded. Even though they were being destroyed by the second, the ships still stuck there. After a long while, the fighter pilots knew what their duty was if they were to save many other lives. Lots of fighters rammed the Liberty in the very front. As another Destroyer went out of control, it slammed into the front of the Liberty, causing a massive explosion. Without the command center to guide it, the Liberty spun of course and went into a group of Thunderclaps that had been killing two Heavy Cruisers. As 6 Thunderclaps and a Heavy Cruiser slammed into the Liberty, it began to look like a piece of space junk. Finally, the other Heavy Cruiser that had been running from a group of 5 Thunderclaps turned to find the Liberty’s engines in front of it. The Heavy Cruiser turned sharply as the Thunderclaps came right next too it. The Heavy Cruiser shot into hyperspace, letting three Thunderclaps slam into the Libertys engines. At last, the Liberty blew, sending chunks of debris everywhere. One chunk hit the other Titan, hurting it very badly.

The bridge officer aboard the battlecruiser, Falconlance2, gave his latest report to the Emperor. "Emperor, reports indicate an assault underway against the Dreden fleets present in Stornik.

"Very well, I shall reinforce it."

As all warp engines powered up, the emperor gave his orders to each commander through the broadcasts. "Standby for immediate battle, Red alert immediately upon arrival. Engage."

Alien fleets warped into Delver, then Guam, then the target Stornik.

Alien ships appeared on the Dreden fleet's right front without warning and began firing upon any enemy ships. The Dreden had responded to the first attack with their great firepower, but were not expecting a second assault so soon.

Carriers and Battlecruisers started launching their huge number of seeker modules at the enemy Titan battlecruiser and the 3 athena gunships that were still engaged with the Alien 15th. Alien heavy cruisers and destroyers started releasing their detonator clusters at all approaching dreden fighters at a furious pace, disabling and destroying many. Heavy fighter squadrons engaged enemy thunderclap destroyers, destroying many while taking heavy fire themselves. the 9 interceptors guarded the Alien carrier and battlecruisers, taking care to stay out of the many detonator clusters released by the 13 other alien capitals that were taking effect on the swarms of Dreden fighters.

Meanwhile, grundulater's fleet was still heavily engaged. Gunboats, heavy fighters, and interceptors attacked the odysseus cruisers and remaining titan battlecruiser. The titan battlecruisers, taking the brunt of hundreds of seeker modules and being assailed by fusion beam and needle beam guns, finally crumbled to the attack and exploded, taking out many alien fighters as it did so. The carrier, meanwhile, was continuing to send it's remaining supply of modules, supporting the new assault that the emperor's capitals were mounting on any dreden capital ships.

The plasma beams and torpedoes of the dreden were taking their dreaded effect however, taking down one of kyle's battlecruisers and several cruisers. The numerous thundercap destroyers were also furiously responding, taking out great numbers of alien heavy fighters.

Dreden fighters were assaulting the alien destroyers and heavy cruisers, and in their combined strength destroyed many. However, the detonator clusters had eliminated a great number of them as well.

Azdara Ace immediately entered the airlock of the remaining Athena and took control of the ship, it would have to do as his command ship. He quickly sent off a message, and soon all of the remanents of the 36th were behind him. "All ships, form a tight rank and engage that carrier." The 36th's immense firepower slammed into grundulater's Carrier like a sledge hammer against a tin can. The carrier exploded, destroying some nearby and heavily damaged Alien ships. Using the explosion as cover Azdara Ace ordered the 36th to pounce on the 3 heavy cruisers. They didn't even see it coming. One of them fired back, destroying a destroyer and some fighters, but the other two could do nothing, their damage already too great.

Azdara Ace was angry. Very angry. The kind of deep hatred that he had never felt before exploded inside him every second. He gave orders for the 36th to engage all of Consul Grundulater's remaining ships. It wasn' that hard. The Consul's fleet was already heavily damaged, and was seriouisly lacking capital ships. The Athena Azdara Ace was in was holding together, but barely. It was surrounded by Destroyers though, so Azdara Ace was confident that he'd make it through the battle in it.

After wiping the Consul's fleet off the map, Azdara Ace ordered the 36th to make a temporary withdraw, regrouping outside of the battle. He gave orders to the 36th to stay away from the battle for the moment, regroup, and then attack again, going to long-range weapons first. The battle was as follows:

As soon as Jimbob heard the news he was outraged. He jumpped straight into Stornik to help. He jumped to Rhansard and refueled, awaiting the correct time to kill the alien menace.

OOC: Since azdara refuses to give grundy back some ships so he can have a fleet, I'll resume.

Alien ships were assaulting skyblade's fleet at the moment, destroying several of his fighters and inflicting damage to his capital ships, but then a transmission came through from the navigation officer indicating one of the dreden fleet's temperary withdrawal.

"So Azdara has regrouped farthere away from the battle. Excellent, he has just divided the Dreden forces. Engage Azdara Ace immediately."

As the alien fleet approached azdara's fleet, a small volley of seeker modules destroyed the heavily damaged athena battlegunships. Further volleys of modules and drones destroyed one of the heavily damaged odysseus cruisers. As the remaining 30 dreden fighters approached, kyle's 30 alien fighters hung behind the capital ships. 2 volleys of detonator clusters were released at the approaching vessels, destroying and disabling many. Then, 23 heavy fighters and 7 interceptors flew in and finished most of the job with their beam weapons and drones. Azdara's remaining thunderclap destroyers and one odysseus cruiser had been firing many torpedoes, resulting in the destruction of one of kyle's destroyers and some damage on the carrier. As alien fighters approached with speed and determination, followed by huge numbers of modules and drones, the majority of Azdara's remaining ships were destroyed, including the remaining odysseus cruiser.

"Emperor, reports indicate the presence of another Dreden fleet in Rhansard."
"Damn, how many are there? Set course to Hogen and engage immediately."

The new information on the presence of another fleet had spared Azdara Ace the complete destruction of his fleet. But great damage had been done in the process.

I'm honestly trying to be fair in terms of statistics though.

The battle was devestating. The Alien had finally left, but the wreckage they left behind would remain in the Stornik system for years to come. Azdara Ace hadn't heard any news at all from President Skyblade, so for the moment, he would have to assume him as dead. Azdara Ace immediately called the defense fleet up to gaurd the 36th and 101st, and Azdara Ace headed down to the planet in his destroyer. Captain Alexander had survived the battle with Azdara Ace, hopping from ship to ship, but that was about the only good news.

Azdara Ace also called his remaining Lynx down too. Azdara Ace was thinking revenge, and that was all that he was thinking. Without additional ships, however, that would have to wait. As soon as his two ships had completed their refueling, he headed back into the system to scavenge through the wreckage, searching for survivers....

The Dreden 36th Warfleet Division;) is fully rearmed and refueled.

Legatus Ipvicus scaned over his daily report with as much haste as was possible, he had only arrived in the Brex system a few hours ago and was only waiting for the news that his ships were refueled and ready for hyperspace. As he read in silence a young ensign aproached him. "Sir" he said "the last ships are reporting in now, the fleet is fueled and preped, we await only your command." He looked around his bridge, hopefully this brave crew would survive this war, hopefully they would all be able to go home victors. But for now he must risk all their lives to make that victory possible. "Helm bring the fleet about and make our course for the Sten system.

When the 5th Fleet came out of hyperspace Legatus Ipvicus was temted to sneer. His enemy here was none other than the traitor Plute, and for all his trouble the treacherous cur had only managed to gain command of a small task force more suited to fighting off petty bandits than his mighty fleet. His eyes fixed on the Heavy Cruiser that was no doubt his enemies flagship. Surely the humans wouldnt be able to crew such a magnifcant ship? Could their small minds even comprehend the beauty and complexity of Alien technolagy? And what if the ship were crewed by his own people? The young Legatus couldn't fathom killing so many of his people without being utterly sure of their loyalties. "Communications open a channel to those Alien vessels, but don't broacast any translations, and piggyback one of our intelligence activation codes on it". "Alien vessels this is Legatus Aladar Ipvicus of the Imperial 5th Fleet, if you do not return your ships to Imperial custody within five minutes you will be considered guilty of treason and under sentance of death."

Within a minute chaos reigned on the Euphoria II, the Inteligence agents (there were a small number on every Imperial vessel) on board had released a number of Imperial loyal cremembers from the brigs and they had carried the Legatus' ultimatem to most of the crew. The Crew, who had origionaly been recruited at gunpoint, and now seeing the size of the 5th fleet were not very hard to convince, and before Bari knew what was happening he had a full fleged mutiny on his hands. The pilots (Plute's loyal officers had been replaced with actual pilots) of the Heavy Fighters were even quicker to make up their minds, and immeadiatly started breaking off and making for the 5th. As the Dreden ships finally translated the Legatus' message and began to realize what happend they started fireing on the fleeing Alien ships. But by this time the 5th fleet was attacking.

The smaller ships were the first to attack, the Destroyers and Cruisers, (both variants) escorted by the Gunships and Fighters (including five that were able to reach the safety of the Alien fleet) quickly surrounded the four Hawk gunships and began to pound them unmercifly. One by one the were reduced to flaming slag, while the fighters kept and Crickets from making attack runs on the larger ships. As the last Hawk exploded the Alien ships turned their attention to the remaining crickets, but about a squadron of them had made it to the now quickly approaching Sten Defense Fleet.

The fleet consisted of three Odysseus Cruisers and five Hawk Gunships. They sped toward the 5th Fleet while the ships that had been involved in the initial attack on the Hawks parted in front of them, fireing seeker drones and modules, and let the Defense Fleet go on to meet the Alien Capital ships. When both groups were in range of each other they let out volleys of long range weapons. As the Cruisers came in range of the Alien Battlecruisers all three began to focus their attacks on the lead cruiser, crippleing it in the first few moments. About this time the restof the fleet encircled the Defense fleet and began pounding it, the Capitals (now including the Heavy Cruisers and Cruisers) kept on pounding the one reamaining Odysseus , while the rest of the fleet fineshed off the Hawks. The only losses were attributed to the fearless Cricket pilots who had managed to destroy another Heavy Fighter and a Gunship before the Interceptors finished them off.

**Sten system now under the control of the Alien Empire **

By this time the mutiny on Euphoria II was over, most of the Dreden security personel had dies within the first few minutes, totally unprepared for the fury of the mutineers. The remaining loyalists had died when the mutineers had cut life support to the section of the ship they occupied. Unfourtuntly the traitor Plute was able to escape in his personal Heavy Fighter before his crew could aprehend him.

Emperor Kyle regarded the viewer screen, eyeing the positions of alien and dreden fleets. The situation had stabilized, but both sides had taken very heavy damage. In this carnage, the human confederation was arriving from the east. "Send a message requesting audience with Dreden President Skyblade."
"Done, sir."
"Record. President Skyblade, this is the alien emperor, Kyle speaking through private communications. As you may have noticed, both sides have been heavily battered in this war. But you also know that the Dreden have taken back all the worlds that were originally theirs.

I need to bring before you a matter of history, your history as we knew of in our incursions into the Milky Way Galaxy. You the Dreden, know your own history. Did you ever wonder why you left the Human Confederation in the first place? You were rebels, the scourge of society, no better than the pirates themselves. Now, as you have reestablished yourself in a new galaxy, your prestige has been restored, but in whose eyes?

Ask yourself if the Confederation will welcome you back into their empire with open arms. After all, the distances that separate your homeworld Dreden with the Sol system are vast. The history points out that long distance rulerships are always failures as was the case in your original planet Earth. I propose today that you form an alliance with us, so that we may discover the Milky Way Galaxy's strength in its fullest and win.

Until I receive an affirmative and response from your council, Skyblade, I suggest a cease fire between our forces."

(OOC: Skyblade...this is just a suggestion to thicken the plot of this webstory. Think about it, Sentarus galaxy vs. Milky Way Galaxy. The pirates could form an alliance with the humans to repel the greater threat if they wanted. If you're not interested, then it's fine as well.)

The 7th Fleet, now recovered from its failed strike against the Selica system, was now gearing up for a second attack on the Alien Empire. Supported by the 16th Fleet under the command of Admiral Rak, Admiral Mark James would now assault the Selica system for the second time. And this time, he was determined to hold it.

The two fleets jumped into hyperspace, and quickly came out in the Selica system. The Aliens had only recently recovered from the first daring attack made by Admiral James, and they were rather stunned to see an even larger fleet attack.

The Human Confederation 7th Fleet charged the Selica Defense Force, while the 16th fleet created a perimeter and hit the Aliens with a deadly crossfire of heavy artillary.

As dozens of Alien ships were taken down quickly, the 7th Fleet then hit the Aliens head on with a wave of Devil Rays, then the rest of the primary fleet, which easily tore through the defense force.

But the battle was not over, for the defense fleet regrouped and charged again, but to no avail. They were once again hit badly and the last ships were destroyed without mercy.

Jimbob thought deeply for a few moments. The Seige of Stornik was over, neither side truely leaving as the victor. He had a few choices to make about what to do next, having the only full sized Dreden fleet. Jimbob called the promoted Captain Anderson to the bridge, and ordered him to tell the fleet to set course for Sten, while sending 4 destroyers each to Azdara and Commander Skyblade

42nd fleet is in Sten.

Hehe, well... My own ship was gone before I could even say I attempted to reach an escape pod. I went down with the ship... simple as that.
