The forklift is a lot of fun at first. Then you can blow up Confed Cruisers in a Defender, and the game losses it's touch. Escpecially for the alien missions. Everyone thinks you need the forklift for that. I didn't lay a finger on them and I still beat them! I lost my escorts, too! ahem. Back on topic. The forklift is a no-fun-really-good blow-up-corvette-ruin-game-never-say-EVula-as-Evula waste of time!

I use it just for fun on a special cheat name to take out anger. I put it on my main on once by accident. Now it just take longer to switch from torps to missles. :frown:

The Fork is not a cheat -- no matter what other members say. ASW's own FAQ answers a "are there any cheats in EV?" question with, "No."
The Fork IS a really powerful easter egg ... with which one can get carried away and make the game so easy it loses its challenge.
I use the Fork. (There! I said it.) I use it by my own "Code". For example, when I have four or five captured escorts and jump into a new system, I Fork the two Pirate Defenders that always fly around like mosquitoes. The Defenders are no challenge, but the do annoy me. So I Fork 'em ... and don't Fork the Pirate Corvettes, Rapier, Clippers, Argosies, etc. cuz that would be too easy.
Abusing the Fork is what ruins the game. (Entropy is right when posting, "The forklift is sort of a drug- if you have it, you want to use it." And just as with so many addicts, I say "I can control my use of the Forklift.") Sinister, huh...?
(KK whispers to ElG7) Before I adopted my "Code" of use I learned exactly how many Forks will disable a Confed Cruiser. Just count off the shots and it's done.

which mission are you talking about? i hate the missions, i always attack, even with the shattlecraft, i can use weak cannon to kill someone and get their cash, thats how i got the best ship within short amount of time, then again, i got wasted most time by those BIG ships (whats their name?).

Well, my History teacher wasn't too pleased with me, but he has an old, dusty Quandra that has EV. I gave him my Auora pilot... Keep your money guys. Making his face light up like that was enough of a bribe. However, ahem, back to the subject.
It so happens that many so called "PC Devotees" absolutly love EV, yet won't touch any other Mac game. It took me 3 years to get the Kestral, and I didn't want to wait that long to convert them all, so I pressed some certain buttons at the end of a certain song written by a certain staff in a certain bar at a certain time in the morning... Still I don't use the fork. It was a fun novelty, but it wore off. I now create plugs for EV, I don't play it unless I find a good TC. MM, my current project, features many complex mission strings, so I need to use other (url="http://"http://www.ambrosiasw.com/cgi-bin/vftp/dl-redirect.pl?path=ev/cheats&file;=Fireball 1.1.sea.hqx")weapons(/url) to make sure the dësc's fit, and all that other juicy stuff we get to de-bugg.
In short- It was cool for a while, but I'll stick to my trusty
