As for the Bar, its one of those things that I need to work on when I have the spare time; complete overhaul of the rest of the Lair (which is on it's way, it is just taking a while...) is higher up on the list than the Bar, but I've got a few ideas for it.

Cannons, Azdara Ace? Just throw four proton turrets on a warship, an RCS upgrade, then make sure you don't let the Alien Cruiser get in front of you.
Oh, and if you enter the system and the first ship you target is a fighter, go back to your saved game. If the first ship is the Alien Cruiser, it's fighters will go after the /cruiser, I seem to remember. Makes it insanely easy.

As for fighting aliens, see advice above this, and don't get in front of the ships. Also make sure your ship is fast enough to dodge/out-fly seeker drones. Good luck!

A friend of mine just e-mailed me his pilot file, in hopes that I could beat the Alien ship for him. Here's how I did it:
-Killed the damn Bounty Hunter that was in the way! :mad:
-Pressed caps lock (double speed)
-Rush the Alien Cruiser with all guns flying and circle him tight.
-Really, right on top of him even. Always firing.
-Before long he will be deadI started doing this when I was at less then 50% armor and I still managed to kill him without stopping to recharge. Has anyone else used this method before?

What I said was it's all in the cannons, projectiles don't help nearly as much.------------------

Well, the guys here have given you some pretty good answers. But it seems like they all have forgotten about the Tractor Beam. Try to lay yourself just behind, or next to, the Alien Cruiser and then fire with Proton Turrets, hence it'll be really easy to take out the Alien Cruiser.
