    • this is for those having trouble

ok i thought that we could post questions we have about the game and answer other questions we have advice for. so we could kinda get help and help at the same time.
my question is what is the fork lift, what does it do, how did you get it, and is it worth getting.(if you cant answer it but do have a question post it you may get a reply in a while or right away). hope you all like my topic. 😄 😕

      ------------------

    • I heard its some kind of bomb. I think you can blow up a planet with it. Here, I got this from a cheat website. I think it's the only way you can get it:

To receive the forklift, option-click the title screen so you get the EV/MST3K theme. Wait until "-MCB 4:35 A.M." shows up, then hold down control-command-option-shift-F. You'll hear the Forklift theme song They'll try to kill, I'm with a forklift!. The loaded pilot file receives the forklift.

      • Another nifty thing you can do is buy a Kestrel, get the forklift and then purchase five proton blasters. This gives you a Rapid-fire forklift!

      Hope that helps! 😄

    • The forklift a very powerful bomb that you can get by the above specified instructions. It can not, however, destroy planets (cause if it could EV would get very boring very quickly. 🙂 ) It does however have a ridiculously high damage rate. 5 of them would take down a Confed Cruiser.

A mission replacing normal Earth with that Earth. No weapon can destroy a planet. You can only replace planets using missions to make them look that way.

    • Actually, I have a question. I finally completed the Rebel missions, and at the Palshife outfitting place, they have Mantas. Do you use those with a regular fighter bay?

I'm fairly sure you have to use them with the manta bays that are only included on the rebel cruiser. I don't know if you can buy a manta bay, but if you can buy mantas at the outfit screen, you should be able to buy a rebel cruiser.

      ------------------

    • That picture of earth, did that come from a plug-in or was it made up by a very pro-rebel?
If it's from a plug-in, please tell me which one, I think I need to bag me a copy of that 🙂 !

yeah the mantas can only be outfitted on a rebel cruiser 'cos if you read 'bout it, it says it has an external bay. you cannot buy one. however if you have a cruiser and you want to buy a new ship release your fighters then buy a ship and they'll be your escorts(you cannot control them and you do have to pay them 5k credits a day for all four)

    • Well I'm haming trouble with the Confeds. See I got the mission where you find the Rebel Task Force. Now where does the string continue? 😕

On the Galactic Scourge Plug-In site there is a pic identical to that and they say Sol becomes that way after a mission series. If it is GS, the Rebels probably didn't do it, it could have been living asteroids, aliens, or Astex's own version of Frankenstein, the Replicons. It's a great Plug, but can be slow if you have little memory. I have an iMac with more than 8 Gigs on it. 🙂

I don't think that's actually a mission string. The main Confederate mission strings are Rebel Pursuit (which starts as a reconaissance mission to Ruby) and Investigate Disappearances (the alien missions). There's also some minor strings concerning the development of a new Rebel warship and some Rebel weapons smugglers.

    • questions from a newbie:

what's the most efficient way to improve my combat rating?
do i go after the kestrels, or will destroying a lot of low level ships improve my rating just as quickly?
if i board an enemy ship and it self-destructs, does this event add to my rating?

      thanks in advance.

Hello goatman, and welcome to the boards. You'll find that the community here is very accepting and will warmly receive you.

1- Try going after pirates, and also frigates/destroyers of the government you're working against. The thing with combat rating is that it is determined by the number of crewman you have killed. Therefore, the more crew you kill the better.
2- No it does not. The ships computer destroyed the ship. However, if you failed to capture the ship and then destroyed its disabled hulk, you will get full credit.

A tip- If you see a cruiser or frigate/destroyer in the process of blowing up, hit it with any weapon and you get credit for the kill.

Here are some tables for your reference-

      As quoting the EV bible-

_Your combat rating is based on the number of kills you have made, which is the sum of the crew complements of all the ships you have destroyed. The scale is as follows:

      Kills: Rating:
      0 Harmless
      1 Mostly Harmless
      100 Fair
      200 Average
      400 Above Average
      800 Competent
      1,600 Noteworthy
      3,200 Excellent
      6,400 Dangerous
      12,800 Deadly
      25,600 Ultimate_

      Crew stats-
      Corvette: 37
      Kestrel: 196
      Rebellion Destroyer: 115
      Confederate Cruiser: 1029
      Confederate Frigate: 217
      Rebellion Cruiser: 527

Fighters aren't worth it, these are basically the only ships that are. Good luck in getting your rating up. In no time you'll have an ultimate rating. 🙂
