Where do the Proxima missions start? Are there any? And what should be my next ship:
The Polarus Heavy Cruiser or the Rebel Carrier? And what is your opinion on the Panther Interdictor?

Polaris Heavy Cruisers are nice, but they're expensive...and also, the fighters tend to die quite quickly under heavy fire. My advice: save up 100M and buy a Proxima Battlecruiser. You can find the mission by having a high battle rating and going into the Talaria/Andwafa systems and landing, taking off, etc. until you find a disabled Bird-of-Prey. Board it, and some pirates will jump into the system - the mission string starts once you board it. Dispose of the pirates, and go to Proxima - in the upper right hand section of the map, in the "crescent."
Once you finish the Polaris string(s), you can buy the Black Lightning. Find an Alien Ship, disable it with two shots from the sucker, and board it. Sometimes, you may be lucky enough to catch one, in which case you will have godly power. I was able to disable and board an Alien Marauder, which is undoubtedly the most powerful ship in the plug-in.
The Panther Interdictor is a nice ship for the price. However, by that stage in the game you should have a better ship. If not, it sure packs a punch...but remember, those pirates which you'll blow up later in the mission strings will have four Condors fighting against you...in which case our little ship will be screwed. Royally screwed.

I know this is a dead thread, but it looks like as agood a place as any to ask my question. I got a mission where I was supposedto get some alien artifacts from Maia, the system beyond the force field. Now, the whole artifact thing was a lie, and the aliens are out in force. Short of ejecting, is there any way for me to get back to the rest of the galaxy? Either way, I'm glad I took the time to make a backup pilot file.

Thanks for the hint. However, it hasn't helped me. Repeatedly, I've launched from the Alien station and scanned through all the ships in the system. Most of the time, it's just large Alien Fleets, avoided only through the use of cloaking. I've seen Confed, Polaris, and Orion fleets at different time, but nothing on a regular basis. And those humans won't do anything for me or tell me anything. They usually fight the aliens, ending dead under the wrath of two dozen fusion beams of various power. So could you please just tell me what I'm looking for?

When the Command ship called Alien mothership comes ino the Maia system, hail it. It will give u a mission. Then you can leave the system.

Now for something else. I did the Proxima mission where you rescue the crew from the disabled ship. Now where does the string continue? I'm a pillar of society in the proxima system, but I never get anything from the bar. Can anyone help me with this?

I would like a few clarifications about the Orion missions. Where do they start? What status/rating must u have to get them. Also: A long time ago I was playin the missions, and after a while, I just stopped gettin missions that were in a mission string. I couldn't find where the string continued. I dont believe that I had finished the string, as I didn't have access to their warships, and it just didn't seem like it was over.
Could someone help me on this? Please no crappy cryptic answers.

I think you have to play the Polaris mission strings first. Then after a while, you would be offered a mission by a Orion colnel(sp) named Grey (first name escapes me) to desroy the Wraith crusier. That's when you get the warships, and although the Orion Galaxy Destroyer is expensive, its well worth it, heh heh heh... Hope that helps.
