Since Escape Velocity users seem to enjoy polls much more then Override users, just thought I would post one here, for fun and out of curiosity. What is your favorite weapon or outfit? Even though I haven't played the original Escape Velocity in two years, I can still remember my favorites pretty well. My favorite weapon is the Proton Turret (It's a close call between this and the torpedo) Please post your favorite! I'll add up the votes as we go...Deal?

Fav. Secondary: Tractor Beam (Eases the tedium of dominating planets with wave after wave of defenders/patrol ships etc.)
Fav. Outfit: IFF decoder (I'm blind without it).

I'll vote for the Autorefueller (nobody can live without it,) the Space Bombs ( They're so fun when you're in a system clear of asteroids and make a sucessful drop at some poor ship...) and the Proton Turret (just because it does more damge then the Laser and is still fairly light and cheap. And at some plugs where you can use Neutron Turrets, those are often to heavy and to expensive.)

"Just because" I tend to make these polls difficult ... I really believe we could divide this question into two parts: 1. Early in the game (before you have managed to get your 'Vette or Argosy, and 2. After you have these ships (or better).

Before I get a 'vette I really don't use weapons. I start out with a shuttle, and dont arm it. Then I buy a courier and dont add any guns. Then I get a corvette.
But...
My favorite outfit early in the game is still the regional map.

I don't buy maps any longer, I generally know how to get to where i'm going these days. Guess I've played this game a bit too much.......naaah.
