    • RE: Dr Tall Land Virus

I don't really know where to start with this but.....well first of all, I had no idea my system was infected with INIT 29 A. I belive I have been infected for more than a year. During the past two hours, I purged the virus from my system and re-uploaded every Dr Tall Land file on my website. You should no longer come across the virus from any files I distribute.

I would like to thank everyone who brought this to my attention, espically Susanne for alerting me to the seriousness of the problem and to LizWiz for sending me an anti-virus program. Hope this did not cause you too much hardship  Sorry!!

I never said I liked trimesters... although I don't have to study as much.

    • It's all a plot! He knew OBW would get his password, after what he did to us, so he infected it! <Runs off to DL the fix> BTW, in The Treetrunk, by the health crystal under the acid, you can fall through the floor. Just thought I'd tell you about that bug. 😄

Umm I believe I've found the area you're talking about in MASCOT but I don't see why you would fall through the floor. I admit, I've never been down there since there's nothing to see but could you be a little more specific? Thanks.

    • It's because the floor is too thin in one place. There is a corner piece under two curved pieces so that the corner piece isn't all the way covered.

Where can I DL a free thing that will take care of the virus? (the more specific the URL, the better)

Ummm. Well Lizwiz actually e-mailed me an anti-virus thing which took care of it. I can e-mail it directly you to (about 400KB) or if you don't trust me you could ask her for a URL.

You're kidding! We have trimesters too! But... my school is a little odd... there is no homework untill sixth grade and it's all year around. (No summer) I'm on a two-week winter break right now. There's a spring break too and there's a highschool, preschool and kindergarden below us, and on our floor, there's grades first to eighth. Here's the wierd part. There aren't just grades with one grade in it! There's some grades are 5/6 grades others are 6/7 and some are just one grade. Insted of going from class to class for a different subject, we all stay in one room for everything except for Motor, (Physical ed.) Music, Art, Dance, Computer and Spanish. We stay in the same room for Math, history, grammer etc. My school's wierd!

Much as I hate to admit it, I like your levels, and would like to use them, so would you e-mail it to me? ecaf@frontiernet.net Thanks.

I like your levels too, but, you see... they're not that beautiful. They're pretty ugly, but still very good. Your levels are very different from mine... Good job.

    • A problem: Disinfectant picked up nothing on my computer, but I've been getting really weird bugs. Sometimes when I'm continuing a game in FW, it says it's out of memory and quits, but then if I start a new game, immediately abort, and try continuing a game again, it works. Also, sometimes when Ferazel dies, the game doesn't stop. I can't do anything, but other things happen still. None of these bugs happen all the time. I'm wondering if Disinfectant is faulty, or if I've got a virus that it can't find. Help, please!

    • I must admit, I know nothing about Disinfectant. It caught the virus for me, that's all I know. Speak to lizwiz if you want to know where it came from. I'm really sorry about all that, I still don't know where I got the virus to begin with.

I sent Disinfectant to Dr Tall because he had a known virus that it cured. It is however very old and the makers don't intend to update it - which is a shame because it was good - and free. Unfortunately most good virus protection apps these days are not free. I tend to use Norton only when I have to. I don't have it installed I just use it from a CD, because it generally causes more problems than it fixes. On the up side however there are very few viruses which affect a Mac especially if you don't use Outlook Express. In 12 years of using Macs I have only had 2 viruses, neither of them serious (and that includes the recent one via Dr. Tall land). It sounds to me like you have more of a software conflict than a virus.

I would recommend reinstalling FW and if that doesn't work check your operating system. 9.2.2 seems to cause a few oddities in FW, and when I first installed it I got quite a few problems in the rest of my computer as well.

    • I finally got Norton AntiVirus for OS X, and it nailed the INIT 29 A in both the readme and the world data file.
