      Vote: 1Eevee1

I'm going to have to agree with darth, here.

1Eevee1 is bashing me for trying to reason things out, and he's misrepresented whats happened:

When did darwinian say that the terrorists supplied the rifle?
When did darwinian say that the terrorists would be able to cheapshot an extra kill if one of them was found?

However, darwinian did say that there would be several special roles and only two terrorists this game.

When I raised the possibility that Cerberus was some kind of special role, 1Eevee1 tried to shout me down. He is lashing out at me for pointing out flaws in his logic, and then trying to make it seem as if I am the one being unreasonable.

++ Chin makes a lot of good points here. I'm putting my money on 1Eevee1.

    • mrxak watches with intense fascination

    • Then I change my vote to darth_vader. Somebody has to be first to be the accuser. If you were first, darth, would that make you the terrorist?

    • Just a reminder, this round ends in about 16 hours. kickme, Mackilroy, I would like it if you could vote in that time.

It wouldn't make me one, no, but it would rightfully make other people suspicious. Since I'm innocent, I don't want to accuse first with nothing to go on. Usually it's dictators/terrorists who don't mind randomly accusing. Obviously, they have nothing to lose since they know they won't accuse their partner. As long as someone dies, they gain something. Also, as I said before, it's something that dictators are just known to do. I did it myself when I was a dictator last round, and mrxak did it when he was a dictator the round before. I know that somebody has to be the first accuser, all I'm saying is that what I have observed and deducted points to the terrorist/dictator usually going first. Everyone else has something to lose, they do not.

    • darth_vader appears over protective of himself and Eugene Chin. This could be terrorists protecting each other. Thus I vote darth_vader

    • Let me point out the biggest, most glaring flaw in 1Eevee1's targeting:

@darwinian, on Sep 15 2007, 02:05 AM, said in Thermonuclear War, Round VI:

I will not be revealing roles at death. There are several special roles, and each one knows what they can do. I am not going to tell the rest of you what they can do. I will, however, tell you that there are only two terrorist agents among you.

He's as much as assumed that I'm a terrorist because I was arguing about Cerberus's role.

1Eevee1 may as well have kicked this round off with a neon-lit accusation tying me and Cerberus as the terrorists.

If one was Cerberus and the other wasn't me, then the other would have kept his head down and let me take the flak.

If there are two terrorists surviving, then 1Eevee1 has been full of crap this round. For all of his screaming and CAPSLOCK==COOL accusations this morning, the moment darth_vader looked like an easier target, 1Eevee1 switched targets with only a barely rational utterance as explanation.

This too the Dictators have done in past games.

    • I vote for 1Eevee1.

    • EDIT - Scratch that part. This is where the gloves come off.

I voted for darth_vader simply because. I have no basis to accuse him. But you have no basis to accuse me.

All we have is Eugene Chin's word, and that one flaw in my testimony. But I digress.

Eugene, if I am wrong, then explain this to me.

What roles did Cerberus, rebelswin85 and mrxak play, if none of them was the terrorist and Cerberus killed off rebelswin85 for no reason at all?

I mean, there is very little doubt that the terrorists were responsible for mrxak's death. And if Cerberus was innocent, then, I am compelled to ask about your statement before, on September 17, 8:27 AM, and I quote, from you, Eugene...

"I feel I must point out that, despite the ideological assertions of the representatives of China, that the plutonium that the Andromeda Society is using came from Chinese stockpiles. If your domestic methods were truly effective at ensuring security and unity, this would not be the case."

I understand that the United Kingdom and China have excellent relations, better then our fair states and the Russian Federation. However, I must reflect upon a previous statement by yourself, Eugene, from September 18, 1:58 AM.

"Given time to consider, darth_vader isn't the only suspicious actor here. nfreader, too, seems to be bandwagoning on ideological lines, discounting any possibility that the terrorist sympathizers could be on his side of the red / blue divide."

Plus, from the briefing obtaining through our intelligence agencies... September 18, 1:01 PM.

Cerberus fled. An innocent would not flee. And an innocent would not gun down an innocent man in cold blood. And, with the negotiations having been worked out between mrxak and rebelswin85, it would seem to point that the United States of America and the People's Republic of China had no intention of actively betraying each other, unless you would point me out as a terrorist, in which I expect an apology from yourself, to our friends of China, to the American people, and to all those who have been lost in the terrorist attacks.

In addition to the above facts, my fellow delegates, Eugene was heard to mutter "I spoke in defense of Cerberus this round, and now it's gonna come back to bite me. I just know it."

That does not suggest that Eugene knew that Cerberus was a terrorist. That suggests that Eugene thought somebody else were the terrorists.

Pray tell, Eugene, who the terrorists are, and what role that Cerberus, rebelswin85, mrxak and darth_vader have played.

Plus, I must leave you with one last quote, 7:29 AM.

"but then 1Eevee1 would have been shot instead."

If myself and Cerberus were not terrorists, then explain how I was not shot in the back by that cold-blooded killer.

I was very aggressive in my allegations against Cerberus. That would make me a vulnerable target. Or, indeed, why rebelswin85 OR mrxak were not shot during the negotiations.

There is a lot which I do not understand, and I ask all of you to explain why I am the "terrorist".

As for GutlessWonder's allegations of myself being investigated by mrxak, then I shall explain.

I have been working on plans for our navel forces to prepare to attack a terrorist hideout. I was forced to exceed my authority in getting an additional two battleships and a carrier to escort our strike force to the hideout, which, I must say, was not in the United Kingdom, People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation or the United States of America.

      Ergo, I summarise.

I was under investigation by mrxak for exceeding my authority in requisitioning American combat vessels for a strike on a terrorist hideout, which is in neither of our countries.

I would ask your opinions on what roles Cerberus, rebelswin85 and mrxak played, if neither of them were terrorists.

And also the motive behind Cerberus opening fire on rebelswin85.

I also ask about Eugene Chin's quotes, as mentioned above.

And, in case any of you are asking, the reports of the strike force's attack on the terrorist hideout have not yet been received. I expect to receive them in 7 hours, of which if I am asked, I will divulge to you.

As stated above, I have no basis to accuse darth_vader. But what is his basis to accuse me?

Fellow delegates, if that does not satisfy you, then I shall save our taxpayers the cost of a trial and execute myself.

With this, I shall stand down until the reports arrive.

Of course I'm protective of myself. I don't want to die. There is nothing odd about that. I'm protective of Eugene Chin because I am sure he is innocent. 1Eevee1 accused him without good cause, as we have repeatedly pointed out. And as Eugene Chin said himself in a previous post, the moment I looked like an easier target, he switched to me. I am protecting myself and those who I am sure are innocent, and accusing those who act like terrorists I don't see how this makes me a terrorist.

"Simply because" sounds like a terrorist. As I have pointed out before, it's often the evil faction that randomly votes. Innocents need to be more wary and protect each other. It's true you don't have a basis to accuse me, other than self-defense, but we do have a basis to accuse you. I have already explained why your actions follow the dictator pattern.

That I cannot stand for, which is why I am voting for 1Eevee1. I hope that explains things.

I am glad that you have taken the time to attempt to explain yourself. Unfortunately, with all of this finger-pointing at my fellow US delegate, 1Eevee1, I will not be changing my vote in a show of support. As can be seen, this is likely to make no difference at all in the final outcome.

    • Alright, this round is now over. I am working on a post -- if you act in the break, please PM me with your intended action.

      xander

    • At the beginning of this round, I tried to stir discussion about the Cerberus-rebelswin_85 kill.

darwinian stated, in the first post in this thread, that there would be "Several special roles," and I tried to speculate on one; the possibility of a special role
      "Insane Patriot: Russian."

      In Cerberus's final post:

@cerberus, on Sep 18 2007, 02:18 AM, said in Thermonuclear War, Round VI:

I am a proud member of the FSB and I would never betray the trust my country has placed in me, nor assist those who intend to murder her citizens. This Andromeda Society has killed Russians in the past and they intend to in the future. They must be stopped at any cost.

The FSB is the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, the equivalent of the American CIA, and the successor of the KGB. If you were going to find an Insane Russian Patriot, willing to believe himself above all wrong and willing to kill anyone who disagreed with him, this is where you'd find him.

1Eevee1 argued that Cerberus was a terrorist for killing a delegate who crossed the red-blue line to lynch him, yelling "За Россия!!", "For Russia!!", as he did it.

darwinian didn't wait for PM's to declare who Cerberus shot, so it is possible that the kill was random, or random from those who voted against Cerberus, or that -darwinian- himself made the selection. I don't know; time I could have used figuring that out was suddenly cut short by a nonsense accusation.

I pointed out what I thought didn't seem to fit. darwinian never even hinted that the terrorists had such a power, yet he might have placed any number of Insane Patriots, in any of the countries.

1Eevee1 responded to my disagreement with an accusation so over the top, I can only imagine it being written, either in uproarious laughter, or with foam at the mouth.

darwinian has told us that if we voted to eliminate a delegate, he would be arrested and killed. Yet, this isn't what happened when Cerberus was voted out.

I sought to stir debate on what role Cerberus might have that could cause this discrepancy, and 1Eevee1 jumped down my throat for it.

It is ironic that 1Eevee1 asks for my beliefs on what roles Cerberus, mrxak and rebelswin_85 held.

It is ironic, because that is what I was trying to speculate on when 1Eevee1 went ballistic on me at the beginning of his round, and derailed all further rational discussion.

If you truly wanted to know what I believed, 1Eevee1, why, oh why, did you so groundlessly accuse me for trying to figure that exact question out?

(Edit) Sorry, darwinian. I was writing this up when you ended the round.

    • _Again, the council convenes, and debate begins. Both darth_vader's and 1Eevee1's names float to the surface, but, after days of debate consensus finally settles on 1Eevee1. In part, this is probably due to the fact that 1Eevee1 is not present for the final tally of votes. The MPs are called in once again, and ordered to find and arrest 1Eevee1. Several minutes later, the representatives are paged, and asked to assemble in 1Eevee1's quarters. As they arrive, the delegates are greeted by 1Eevee1's body, slumped over desk. The wall behind him is splattered with blood and bits of tissue. A silenced handgun lies on the floor, below 1Eevee1's dangling hand. The following note is found in the top drawer of his desk.

      Quote

      Representatives of the Special Council,

I know that there is nothing that I can do to convince you of my innocence. But I am innocent. However, I will not subject myself to the American legal system, and I will not be labeled a traitor. I wish you luck.

      1Eevee1

After being made aware of 1Eevee1's untimely suicide, the council breaks. Each of the representatives travels back to their home countries to deal with the loss, and to collect intelligence for the next meeting of the special council._

      -----

The special council is in recess. 1Eevee1 is dead. And, in case you were going to read something into it, the note neither confirms nor denies 1Eevee1's status as an innocent, terrorist, or other. I was hoping that 1Eevee1 would write his own note, but I am going to bed now, and I wanted to get this posted. If you have business to conduct with me, please PM me.

    • Yeah, sorry about that. I was busy. But eh, there ya go, the plot thickens.

I'll be interested to see how the game plays out.

    • Are people being lazy and not PMing xander? What gives?

    • Yeah, this does seem odd.

    • People, people, listen.

I only killed myself. I did not kill the game. The game is unable to be killed by a bullet. And no, the bullet did not stay inside me, then burst out alien-style and kill everybody else.

So... go click on the 0 New Messages button and send one.

Don't make me post again while I'm dead! Or else I'll haunt this topic between rounds!

EDIT - Whoa... totally not expecting that. If any players are reading this, try heading south.

    • I am still waiting for PM(s) from terrorist(s). Yo! terrorist(s)! If I don't hear from you in 24 hours, you shall be declared dead, and the innocents shall be declared victorious. EDIT: Hey! He/She/They got back to me! Eugene Chin is dead. I am on my way out the door, but I will write something up later.

    • _Several weeks after the special council breaks, no new violence has occurred, and the world begins to breath a sigh of relief. Thinking that the terrorist threat is over, the special council is dissolved, and the various delegates return to their normal lives.

Eugene Chin, as ambassador to the United States, flies to Washington, DC, to meet with the President of the United States to discuss cleanup of the missing nuclear material. His plane lands in the dark of night, and is met by an unmarked sedan. Eugene Chin climbs into the back, and the sedan drives off. After nearly an hour of driving, Eugene Chin fears that something is amiss, but the driver refuses to answer any question. He tries the door, but the child safety mechanism is active, and the doors won't open. Eugene Chin begins to panic, and the sedan comes to a stop on a secluded section of road. The driver pulls a Russian Spetsnaz knife from the glove box, and, before Eugene Chin can react, stabs him in the throat. Another unmarked sedan pulls up. Eugene Chin's murderer drops the knife, gets into the second car, and drives off. Eugene Chin's body is found by a little girl on her way to school the next morning.

10 Downing Street immediately calls for another special council meeting, to take place in London. The next morning, the council convenes._

      -----

Eugene Chin is dead. Y'all have 48 hours (until 11:00 AM PDT 24 September 2007) to vote.
