    • PoG plugin brainstorming area

I tought it would be neat if there was a string that would be a place for ppl to post ideas for PoG plugins. So I made this string. I have several neat ideas, and I know other people do, too. 🙂 Maybe I'll even get around to trying to use Coldstone and making my ideas into realities (well, as real as software gets, 🙂 )

      Anyone interested at all?
I'll post my ideas if anyone is..

      ------------------
Oh he put on his bright pink robes / And he curled up his yellow hair
And he ran about with his wand / As if we really care
He says he killed some old hag / And we guess it could be true
If Lockhart came after us / WeÂ’d choke to death laughing, too.

    • Sure, give us your ideas. You'll probably be the only one to get one in before this is locked (Same kind of thing happened on the EVN board, though mostly because Jericon locks everything :p)

      Okay, two neat ideas.

      1. A trading post. This would be somewhere-- good places would be between Gidolan Camp/Fantrima (in that nice hidden shortcut area) or between the Teros bridge and Berglum (cause that's a long boring stretch of area). It'd be structured like the learning tree-- different levels. Which levels you could access would be determined by what level you have reached. Inside is one chest (filled with free stuff, cheap potions in the first (see below), and they get nicer). There would also be a merchant who would sell you items (apples/cheese/fish at the first level, better as you go up). The plugin would be Trinitized, so the gift and the merchant's goods depend on what your class is (a conjourer's gift (1st level?) would be some magic potions, a ranger's would be some herbs, and a swordsman would get some more healing potions, stuff like that).

      2. The Armor-Creator- coming soon-- I've typed enough for right now.

Don't bet on that. A lot of members read this forum.

A very good idea. I think you should try your hand at Coldstone and do this yourself. If not, a plugin maker should work with you to put your ideas into the working version. Why not have the two trading posts run by siblings (either brothers or sisters) who's Uncle Isemere (or whatever his name is) wanders the road? ~RD

Find those areas you missed the first time around. You'll want to explore those hidden areas now made accessible with Spells Expander.

Well, I was thinking it could be either place, rather then both, but hmm..

      1. The Armor-Maker. He lives in the woods south of Fantrima (nice part of the square that doesn't have anything in it except for trees). You feed him money and various items and near the end of the game he gives you a suit of magnificant armor (or just various pieces). Again, the makeup of the armor depends on your class. Also, I thought of a neat thing- he makes you go fetch a magical gem, which you can find in the wilderness. The thing is, there are more then one gem, and some are more powerful then others. One you can buy at Kalexa's (weakest?), one is hidden in High Garendall, some others are scattered around-- and your final suit of armor will depend on which you give to him. You can look hard and find the best, or just buy one from Kalexa and settle for what you get.

      2. PoG II would be nice, but really way to hard to do. (what happens after the end of PoG- you make contact with the other nations, etc, etc).

PoG II would be very nice, but I doubt there will be one. Might want to ask Beenox about that one in an e-mail. Though, it would be cool if the entire web-board (or at least the ones with ColdStone) made PoG II. I'm sure THAT would attract some attention...Just an idea.

Stark--Glad to know you approve of it. I was just worried because on some other boards threads for posting ideas/questions are shut down because thats what making a new thread is for.

With reason like this, I'll soon find myself buying Coldstone... as an old hand at ResEditing EV (O, N) I always wanted a simple, easy way to make/modify games.
Guess I know where my next pay-cheque goes after buying sufficent chocolate-covered espresso beans!

      Thank you and adieú.

I wouldn't really say ColdStone is simple to use, but as soon as you get the jist of it, it becomes much, much easier. (Not to mention the manual leaves some stuff out)

Compared with some things out there, I would. heh. 🙂

    • Comparitively speaking, yes, but that doesn't mean that something is easy just because every thing else in its category is hard...yea..you are kinda right though, come to think of it.

    • The trading post plug sounds good. You might want to also make them double as inns. I remember that the PoG manual (or was it Coldstone) had a screensot of the picking plugins screen. One I noticed was called more stops or something. I checked the PoG addons page and didn't find it.

Another idea. Why don't you make a plug that makes Morgo's termite farm actually do something besides waste your money? Maybe you could make it so that you tell morgo to send it to one of the big cities instead of Gidolan Keep. If you buy the female, then you can get free milk every so often which increases your health (like Morgo says). If you buy a male, then you can do a mock battle with it every so often to increase your experience points.

If UPS and Fed-Ex merged, would they be Fed-Up?

    • The termite farm does have a use! You get to talk to that nice man who needs directions...

    • I'd hardly call that a use, more of an easter egg.

Oh, yeah, I remember. They made a bunch of empty folders, named them things, and stuck them in the plug-ins folder. That's what you see.

Urrg-- I remember trying Coldstone a while back and it crashed on me like crazy! (well, for an ambrosia product anyway)

1.0.1 fixed a lot of issues. There are still a few that need fixing, but many of the original crashing problems have been addressed.

    • Does anyone else have ideas? Or suggestions on my ideas?

    • Maybe a Bankers expansion that gives an option to have the bankers automatically buy upgrade potions and rare rings and such with your money?

      ------------------
And then give them to you. 😄

Actually I don't think I'd like something like that very much. For example:

      Quote

"Hey, I know I have X in the bank, and with the Y gold I'm carrying, I can get T armor!!!"
      you go to the banker
Banker: "Look what I bought you! You now have X/2 gold in the bank!!! Lucky you!!"
      You: "D*mn!!!!!!!!"

      see what I mean 🙂

personally I'd like to see more story based plugins, even ones that add a completely non-essential but fun storyline. Even better if they have a useful reward 🙂

    • I second MickyBIs opinion. Also I would like to see a plugin involving the theives.
You know, the ones who you get awareness from. Joining the bands, new thief items and maybe a totally different and bizzare storyline such as: finding the grave of the Kobald quest lady's father. Killing a traitor thief, and maybe even a thief hideout.
