I do know that a .NET html browser is possible (and is part of a class project). Also, according to the prof, .NET is the easiest language to access databases with.
Also, the differences between .NET 2002 and .NET 2003 are significant enough to make a project in 2003 unopenable in 2002.
As for ASP, Visual Studio .NET 2003 came with the J# language, and the project templates include ASP .NET Web Applications, ASP .NET Web Services and ASP .NET Mobile Web Applications. Couldn't tell you what they mean though. I've only programmed in the VB .NET portion, and opened a C++ project to load the EVNEW source so I could look at it.
The server that hosts my professor's website is having problems, making it impossible to load any pages beyond the index. Actually, IE doesn't even get the index, though firefox may have it cashed on my HD. So my main source of comparison is offline for the moment, as it has class projects for both .NET and VB 6 thet look like they should do the same things.
