    • Hi. I'm Rob "Mazer Rackham" Smith, from Buffalo "<profanity removed> its cold here even in the summer" NY. I'm working on a TC that is set almost entirely in the Solar System, and as is proven by my post "Comm quotes vs. Hail quotes" is currently beset by problems that I didn't know the Nova engine is capable of.

I'm 17 and will be entering my senior year in high school in September. I loved the original EV, leaped at the chance of getting Override, and agonized for months over when EVN would come out. I've beaten the Vellos, Rebel, and Auroran storylines. I'm eagerly awaiting the release of the EVC TC for Nova. I have plans for that game :D.

I lurk but rarely post. I am the unseen, the hidden, the watcher. I am your greatest nightmare. Maybe. Only on Tuesdays, though.

    • Well, I'm a bit new to merit a post here, but if I go ahead now it'll be here when I'm old enough to be worth one. πŸ˜‰

My name's Kate (in real life, as well as here), and I'll be a junior in high school on August 19th. I'm a Latin geek as well as a computer one, and most of my during-school life revolves around running my school's chapter of the (url="http://"http://www.njcl.org")National Junior Classical League(/url). Umm.. I'm trilingual if you count Latin... Anyway, Escape Velocity was my first computer game when we upgraded from a dinky late-80s Mac to a G3 when I was in 5th grade, and I was immediately obsessed (it didn't help, of course, that we were studying trading triangles in Social Studies at the time..). I was never a part of the Ambrosia community at that point, though, mostly because I was still in the "What's email?" stage of internet use, as we first got a connection at that time, too. I played EV:O a little, using a cheat patch from a Mac Addict CD, and so naturally lost interest in it fairly quickly. However, in May I survived 7 torturous hours of downloading on a dial-up connection and got EV:Nova. I registered two days later. (Which is saying something.. the only other shareware games I've ever registered were two RPG's by Spiderweb Software, Avernum and Avernum 3... and it took me a month each to decide to pay for those.)

As for my developing background, well, there isn't much of one, unfortunately. I've tried repeatedly to learn to program, but due to my tendency to bounce from hobby to hobby like a psycho treefrog, I never got much farther than if..then loops in C. I played around with Coldstone for a little while last fall (I was Galadriel on that board.. of course, I lost the password and so did not resurrect my sn. Didn't post anything worth reading besides questions anyway..), but never got the hang of it, besides having a desire to program my own engine if I ever start to work on my rpg (sarcastic laughter Hahahaha! Work on my rpg!! Hahahaha!), which has been in planning for a year and a half now, and has an extremely involved storyline.. sigh.. I'm currently working on my first real (as in, not just used in testing various things and released to public) plugin, the ISLN (Inter-Stellar Library Network). I'd give you a link, but the website isn't yet functional. I need someone to help me with graphics :frown:

Well, there's my bio for when I've been around long enough to deserve one πŸ˜›

I live in conneticut, not too far away from the capitol. Most people know me for my digital art. I started before I was 10, and have been working through various programs, and intend to do it as a career once I get out of college. I drop in here occasionally to leave some information or answer some questions on my tutorials, or for the program Lightwave, which I specialize in. I'm a Seinior in my highschool next year, where I'll have more time to concentrate on my various projects. At the moment, none of my tutorials are up on the web. The space where they were at is going under re-construction, but eventually I will have them back up and running, along with a personal gallery.

I would be happy to answer any questions on lightwave or my tutorials (when they are put up) so don't hesitate to e-mail me.

    • I'm AAC, 21. I draw and photoshop everything. Main things I'v done for EV is beta test Nova, help with the ports of EV and EVO to Nova. Shields and Paint station plugs. Plus have done tons of custom ship editing for people over the months.

I have about 15 started TCs. all of which will never see the light of day.
I tend to have more fun editing EV graphics and data then actualy playing it.

    • Let's see... I'm a college student in Santa Clara, CA (about 10 minutes from Apple Headquarters), and have been playing (and messing around with the resources for) EV since 1.0.0 (yes, before plugins). Currently, I'm majoring in 3D Computer Animation, although I'm considering making a transition to Film Direction. Anyway... Umm. As for current projects, I have some fun independent stuff that will probably never see the light of day, and am alpha testing the Starfleet Adventures TC that Uncle Twitchy mentioned above.

Oh, my current board pet peeves are: AOL/l337 speak, bad spelling/grammar consistant throughout a post (a few errors here and there are understandable), chrome starships, and being called something other than "what_is_the_matrix," "matrix," or "Matrix."

I subscribe to MacFormat and have never noticed 604e's referred to as G2 processors. As for a 'Mach 750', I'm not familiar with that processor... The 604e was sometimes referred to as a Mach V, but I've never heard of a Mach 750 (only a PPC 750, which is the original G3 processor).

I'm not going to karmaslap you because that would be abuse of power - you insulted me personally, so I don't think I should. However, I'd appreciate you telling me in what way I am 'concetied' (sp).

    • Weeell... My name is Ewan Cameron (Crossan - my last name which I intend to ditch). Live in Scotland, for most of the year in a small city called St. Andrews - where I go to University - and the remainder in a ****ty little town called Campbeltown. At Uni I study Maths in order to get a job in the financial sector. In my spare time, Im a bit of an alcohol fueled adrenaline junky. I go rock climbing, kayaking (sp? just started that one), surfing, and in winter skiing or snowboarding.

Around here, I stick pretty much completely to graphics design. Im the sole artist on the upcoming "Final Eclipse" TC run by Jager. As far as the graphics go I am only 10% through, although that will be changing soon πŸ˜› I use Strata 3D 3.0.2 free and a "modified" version of 3.5 base for the assembling of my work and general modelling. I also use Meshwork, Wings 3D, Amapi, Pixels, Cinema 4D XL7, and Infini-D 4.5 for additional modelling (although Meshwork and Wings are the main two).

I run my site ((url="http://"http://www.evula.org/ewan/")evula.org/ewan(/url)) which is mean t to be an Image resource site for the comunity - although I havent got round to puting up all the spins. Its not been updated in quite a while, but Ive got a major overhaul planed.

While it is fairly well established that the PowerPC 601 was 'generation one an the 603/604 were 'generation two' in the same sense that the G3 is 'generation three', Apple never used the Gx nomenclature before the introduction of the Power Macintosh G3, and has never to my knowledge retroactively applied that designation to the previous processors.

    • I'm nwa728, joined in 2000. I'm 15 and am in high school. I hope to eventually pursue some kind of career in movie visual effects or 3D animation, maybe screenwriting as well.
I'm currently(and have been for quite a while) working on Rift(see sig for link) with MadFax7. Rift will likely be the most massive TC size-wise(we're not making it big just because we can...honest. It's because of the parallel universes). It will also future an amazingly involving and deep plot, and will have enough replay value to play many times over.
Past projects(please do not judge my plug-in making abilities by these as I recognize and acknowledge that none of these are very good and that they were made years and years ago):
      Teckktra
      Teckktra 2: The Galaxy Falls
      Teckktra 3: Zeemajii Rule
      The Dark Beyond
Hrm, I don't even know if I spelled my own plug names right, it's been so long...
Anyways, TDB has horribly short descs, and I'm making up for this in Rift by using as long and descriptive ones as possible in most places. Also, the graphics are all horrible.
Anyways, that about wraps it up for me. Oh yeah, and I'm in San Francisco, and walked right past WWDC last night, but unfortunately could not enter. They had a cool huge poster-ish thing about G5s by the window though.

A bit about me. I'm a 20 year old self-employed (read: poor) corporate designer (url="http://"http://www.academedesign.com")http://www.academedesign.com(/url) . I have my own studio, and my own (legal!) copy of Photoshop, as well as a number of unique skills and talents.

Right now I'm doing audio and 2D graphic work for Sephil Saga. My only released plug-in is the Hyper-Etheric Engine mod for Nova (I wanted to prove I could actually put SOMETHING out the door). As well, I have a dead TC called (url="http://"http://www.evula.org/gage_stryker")Visible Menace(/url). If anyone wants to scavenge what I've done so far (basically complete except graphics and storyline), give me an email.

When I'm not sitting in front of my computer wither working or developing (or beat testing Nova, which I also did), I get out and go biking. On weekends (and some weekdays) I volunteer my time to do lighting, audio, and video work for my church, and I'm at a professional level of competence in regards to staging and running big shows (I just recently finished working on both a music awards show and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat )

I also do freelance a/v work.
