Everyone here seems to dislike Defence Pods, for the obvious reason. But the SADs? Personally (now that I own a Crescent Warship) that they are too slow and keep hitting asteroids. But when I was in an Arada, wow. If you lob 'em on fighter-style attack runs like Space Bombs (or Forklifts :)) in EV, they can do quite a bit of damage.

So here's what I ask: Are SAEs any better? And what does SAE stand for, exactly?

SAE: Seek (well, it's just like search, and it makes the same acronym, but it's seek) And Eliminate.

SAE are more powerful, but they are just as easily jammed by most governments (especially Zidagar).

I fell in love wwith the UE Destroyer, in spite of the better choices I had (Crescent Warship wasn't too bad).

I had 2 Hunter Missile launchers and 2 rocket launchers, loads of upgrades and 3 crescent warship escorts (all bounty hunters that wre after me )

i prefer ue cruiser with 8 defence system and much defence pod
i kill a lazira in 2 shot. defence is the best weapon the only problem is that it takes 2 much space but when you have the sapce you can kill everything easyly.

this and the enanced arada with dospect. And the enanced arada is not considerate as an azadgari ship so other strand dont attack you.

We call some topics bars to make them swound cooler. it also gives you a place to check out everyday for new posts. You should check it out, its pretty cool.

Just about the coolest idea ever. I was wondering the same thing myself just a few weeks ago.

Then I joined the webboard and think it's a pretty neat idea... it certainly encourages me to write more.

Anyway, on topic, the Enhanced Azdara, with dospect armor and whatever weapons your fighting style demands, is pretty much the best ship. Evar.

Except for the Tachyonic Fighter in Frozen Heart. 'Cause that's an awesome ship.

How is the No Names roots in Boozy Bar? It is far too plot driven. Do you mean that the previous bar, Albatross, had randomness for the first pages before it got plots? Except that you can never get a Enchanched Azdara without a plug. I think it has no armor too, so it cant be captured either.

Voinian frigate with tractor beam, phase turrets, and all the speed upgrades. Good to get a strong start as a pirate in the Crescent with.

If u dont like to earn money just for good ships, I say download supershuttle. this is especially good for if u want to be a pirate

As much as everyone has ideas to upgrade freighters and/or warships someone has to think about the fighters.

To begin with a voinian heavy fighter is much like a warship when in cresant space. I have personally done every cresant strand storyline with a voinian heavy fighter(not in the same pilot file though)

neutron shots despite how powerful they are, are in fact crap as they are slow to reload and are generally slow themself.

For me the better ship is an enhanced azdara with only a few upgrades.
It has as many swivel cannons as it can have. 1 layer of dospect armor. 3 needle missile launchers and 250 needle missiles. I also have an azdara bay with 6 azdaras to go with it. Impossible!? Not quite. First I have to buy as many mass expansions as I can then but as many cargo expansions as i can then do mass then cargo over and over till you can't any more. The sell all the cargo expansions to leave tons of room. Best done on warships and freighters(I got over 2000 tons of weapon space on a minranu heavy freighter this way)

If you had maxed out on defence pod launchers (I think you can get eight?), and overflown the Dreadnaught, launching the pods just as your sprites overlap... that makes for some serious explosions.

Of course, don't tell the Voinian Navy I told you that, will you?

The Zidara rules plain and simple. Plus you get the free mass expansion when you fully complete the Zidagar storyline.

The Zidara is the perfect mix of speed, acceleration, turing, shields, armour and weaponary.

Use my mass/cargo expansion trick (please ask me if you don't know it because you should) to gain max weapons space, deck it out with either phase or neutron weapons, only one Zidagar beamer, ramscoops, and two fuel increases and a layer of Dospect. Keep the fighter bays (mine has 4 zidagar fighters due to quick disabling of other Zidara's ) Get the speed, accel and turn upgrades and anything any other upgradse you want and you have one awesome ship
