    • Help on EV:O

Hi, second topic post on this forum. I decided to just play EV:Override. And get used to the speed. I figured I'd make this topic for my questions, because I am sure I will have several of questions. For now, I got a 1-3 questions.

      1. What goverments can I join?

      2. When do I get access to more than just the main 4 available ships?

      3. How do I be clean or on Vonian planets?

Okay, thanks... I am going to go back to playing 🙂 (I got Basillik II to work on my Windows 98 :)) Hope they are a few people that would like to help out 🙂 Please, if this has been asked alot, please just tell me. Insted of saying something similar to "..."moderator"... iLock this forum... This has been asked alot! Goto search at the top of the page"

    • Glad to have a newbie here. To be clean on Voinian planets, you have to go to Pax during the Rescue Defector Mission. Warning. Do not abort any voinian missions or it will decrease your rating.
You can join the United Earth, Voinian, Miranu, Zachit, NT Renegades, Human Renegades, Azdgari, Zidagar, and Igadzra.

YOu should work for a government in order to get more ships.

I'm going to assume you've been playing Nova based on your phrasing of that question. You don't so much "join" a government in EVO as you do the different mission strings. There are also three Central Objectives (The UE/Hinwar objective, the destabilizing the Strand Wars objective, and the explore the Ji and Proxima nebulas objective). The missions strings are quite numerous and include UE shipping, Aid The Voinians!, contact between the Miranu and the UE, the North Tip Renegades missions, Free Huron, the Zachit missions, the Captains of Freeport string, etc etc etc.

    • One or more questions...

      1. Who are the best goverment to fight for? Or join, do missions...

      2. Whats the best goverment to fight, join, do missions, etc; for?

      Thanks again 🙂

    • That is very open to debate. Voinian ships are good against ships of the crescent except for the three strands.

It really depends on what you want to do. If you do the Voinian missions first you can then do the UE missions (Rescue Defector and Dreadnought) as well as the UE/Hinwar central objective afterwards. The only major mission strings which limit you to doing one (or two if you choose Igadzra and Azdgari in that order and don't dally) are the Strand missions. If you prefer a really powerful warship, SAE modules, and the Plasma Siphon then play for the Igadzra and get the Igazra. If you want access the Zidara, the pocket warship, Zidagar fighters, the Zidagar ECM system, and the phased beamer then play for the Zidagar. If you want the Azdara, fastest fighter and best shield recharging, as well as access to Azdgari shield and turning modifications, then go with that.

The Voinian, UE, and Nebula missions are givens. The Strand missions I've described above. The Free Huron and Captains of Freeport strings you can only do one of since it'll set a bit to not allow you the second one. The North Tip Renegades and the Zachit missions you can only do one of because a bit cancels out the other one, not to mention the destruction of Zachit Station in the North Tip Renegade string.

    • Now, now, Captain of Freeport and Free Huron can be done on one pilot. It is just a matter of knowing what to do. Don't do the Mavs attack until you capture the captain, simple.

I'd say the UEs or the Voinians are the most fun to work for. The Strands are a bit disjointed. I'm actually a big fan of both, but I'd have to take the Voinians a bit more over the UEs mainly because they're so evil..

    • Like you would because you made two plugs extending that storyline, Bomb.

      ------------------

    • This is your first pilot, so I suggest you take the simple route:
Do normal missions, buy a nice little scoutship. Save a little stash of credits.

Go to the Hatuli system, hire some freighter escorts, buy equipment on Gribn, sell it on Therir, buy metal on Therir, sell it on Gribn, keep it up until you have as much money as you want. Some goals:

1 million- buy a Freight Courier (in the Thoso system in eastern UE space.) or Arada (anywhere in the alien space to the north). Both are versatile and rather strong ships. The Freight Courier is slightly tougher, with more cargo space and a longer range. The Arada is considerably faster, and also makes 1 day hyperjumps, while the Courier takes 2.

4 million- buy a Lazira, if so inclined. Its fast and powerful, but I just say save up for...

9 million- buy a Crescent Warship. This thing will be your first real taste of power, capable of destroying Voinian Frigates fairly easily. Get a bit into the UE missions in this ship, and after you get a deadly combat rating, go to New Taranto, go in the bar, complete the mission string there, and you can buy...

10.5 million- UE Cruiser! This ship is extremely powerful, capable of beating anything when properly upgraded. Go to the far east and capture some Igazras, they make deadly escorts. Go dominate the universe.

Thats my recommended course if you take the warship route. In later pilots, you may want to try other ships, such as the versatile Azdara class fighter, but my outline should give the easiest fights.

    • You need only Worthy of Note for the UE Cruiser string. Shown in Shayborgs EVO site.

I am eager to try to ansver mission questions

    • That is COMPLETELY OFF! You need Ultimate Rating for the UE Cruiser String.

      ------------------

    • Awful sorry to have to break this to you, but the first mission in that offshoot string, Investigate Abduction, requires a Dangerous combat rating.

      ------------------
      The Burning!

    • Hrm, I'm also a 100% sure that you need ultimate, but hey, maybe we're wrong, it's only five minutes more at pax anyways...

      ------------------

    • Why is everybody disagreeing? 😛 Probably ill have to start the UE string again next week on my Mac and prove youre all wrong, that I can get it at lower rating than you say. Dont you believe Shayborg when he says it reguires Worthy of Note? Remember, his site is the only complete EVO site yet. 😉

So you would rather believe yourself than a guy who was written the whole UE string to a guide (a clear one, I might add)? 😛

    • Not especially myself, but excuse me, there's people on this board who knows way more than Shay, about all aspects of evo. Besides, that site hasn't really been updated for years, and some of the info is outdated
