      Welcome to the WoD ch. 4-7 Player slots and Idea Topic!
      Much has happened in the 20 Years since the Battle of Gadzair.

      Voinians and United Earth have merged and become the Coalition. The Capital is Pax, everyone knows where that is. Pax is the most heavily defended ship in the Galaxy, with Earth and Voinia close second. Earth and Voinia are major military bases, with Luna and Borb Station major science bases. A Few Dreadnoughts have been built to suppliment the navy, and with all of the recent upgrades, the Dreadnoughts are the strongest known vessels in the Galaxy. Minor squabling has kept the Govt from any major advances.

      The map should be done sometime fairly soon. The homepage will take a bit longer, but it should definitely be up before the actual story starts.

      I also suggest that all new players in this story make sure that they have at least skimmed over the events in WoD I, and have also read the finale for WoD I.

      Also, are we going to call this Wave of Destruction - Part II, or will we choose a different name?

    • The Dark Angels request permission to have their own primary weapons; Angelfire Cannons. They use positrons sheathed in darkmatter. IE damage about 2/3 of the Ion Cannon, range about 2/3 of the Phase Cannon, and accuracy medium.
      Also new TRAK (track and kill) modules using the smae technology.
      Archangel Battlecruisers will be really big things; I'll have three as mobile command centers, one for each of the three leaders of the Dark Angels.
      I'll also have modified Aradas, CW's, Laziras and CFs.
      I'd also like 3 colonies, situated somewhere near the center of the Crescent - Gadzair possibly, as we'd want to salvage the hulks from the Battle of the Council.
      Also the Azdgari system, as we'd want to mine the ore in the destroyed moons, and that system in between, whatever it's name is.

    • (b)(i)After assisting the Azdgari against Council Station years ago, the Azdgari granted them the Gadzair system, 3 surrounding systems, and allowing them to keep Azdgari. The money azdgari granted them also got them quite a way in technology, allowing them to develop a cloaking device that, although it drains power, cannot be detected. They also developed the Angelfire turrets and weapons, which have average damage and range (pretty high), and medium accuracy. The Angelfire weapons revolve around positrons, held together by a frozen hydrogen core. The TRAK Modules simply have a computer tracking system within the hydrogen core, and the module slowly detonates positrons for thrust, meaning the longer the range, the less the damage.

      That's good; but as a rule, no salvaging Council techs. ๐Ÿ˜› They would be no use to you anyway; they need a race like the Gadzair which has a lot of Psi energy to control them, and that big crystal helped a lot as well.

      There is a moon in Tollb; is that what you're talking about? There are three moons in Azdgari, but they aren't destroyed.

      Btw; Red, can I have control of Admiral Yakuza; that one Azdgari guy in the finale? There are some things I want his character to do.

    • The Adaah can easily zap the shields of almost any fighter, and sometimes an arada. a fighter with shields down, hit one of those Adaah rifts, it'll be destroyed- damage is inversly proportional to recharge rates, so an azdara with shields down would be destroyed a lot faster than a CW with shields down, even if the azdara had Dospect or Bronev. (Adaah isn't strong... just wait. you'll pee in your pants later)

      Carno, the planet Azdgari was completely destroyed, and the Dark Angels have permission to mine the planet chunks. Thats what he's talking about.

      Carno, sure you can control Yakuza. I'll be acarra. ;). You could always just tell me what you wanted Yakuza to do, but if you really want, it'll be ok, since I'll probably be controlling the Acarra occasionally too.

      BTW, after much deliberation, I revoked the miranu's Cloaks. the race can't be TOO strong.

      Yes, Carno, I wasn't planning to salvage Council techs, just the innumerable hulks of destroyed warships from the Battle.
      Tollb is also what I meant.
      Oh goodness, I can see Saraine's old grudge with the Miranu resurfacing. ๐Ÿ™‚
      I've decided that the Archangel will have about as much shields as a Voinian Dreadnaught has armour; I've only got three, however, and their Angelfire weapons are less powerful and with shorter range. Our homing projectiles -Spurs and TRAKs- have about the same damage and accuracy; HAKs, the precursors to TRAKs, were developed for better accuracy.
      So basically, an Archangel and a Dreadnaught would be about evenly matched, but the Dreadnaught would eventually win.
      The Archangels look like MAGMA CWs compared to the stock ones.
      My three commanding characters (the "Seraphim"), their Archangel Battlecruisers, and their command posts, are;
      Saraine, the original founder of the Dark Angels and unofficial "first among equals".
      His Archangel is the Fallen Angel , and he holds command over the Gadzair system.

      Rasael, an old captain who rose through the ranks of the D.A., part-Igadzra, part-Zidagar. Conservative, efficient and punctual. His Archangel is the Storm Angel , and his command is the Azdgari system, where he commands mining and defence efforts, as well as shipbuilding.

      Raven, a relative newcomer to the D.A.; an enigmatic human woman who's past remains a mystery. A brilliant researcher and designer, the original Archangel design was her idea. Her Archangel is the Shadow Angel , and her command is the Dark Angel's research center and troop base of Tollb.

      Bases;
      The D.A. now have three main bases, in the Gadzair, Tollb and Azdgari systems.
      In Azdgari Xarnes, the only moon left with a stable enough orbit to colonise, is Rasael's mining center, shipyard, and command post.
      In Tollb, the planetoid of that name has undergone extensive yet discreet colonisation, with all above-ground buildings being elegant and sleek. It is now one of the premier research facilities in the Crescent.
      In Gadzair, the old Angel's Lair was anchored via a space elevator to the planet below. The Angel's Lair is now a large station, expanded via the attachment of an impressive number of hulks into a formidable battlestation.

      Background: Espilot had once been an espionage agent for the Zidigar, but was exiled under false charges and became a bounty hunter/spy-for-hire. After the Battle of Gadzair, his military talents were finally recognized by the Zidigar and he became their top Admiral. He is also recognized for assisting with the subspace research and design of Ciat missiles and subspace inhibiters. He was quite happy to establish trade with the Miranu and boost their economy. Espilot believes firmly in equality and fairness, and as such participates in annual patrols in his own ship. Espilot has two main commanders, Lieutenant Colonel Kinwed and Major General Jet.

    • I've decided the D.A. can have cloaks, but they are no where near the best. They use fuel requirements, and just about any ship can detect the cloaked ship, but not it's exact location. Everyone, wait to specify your ships, I'm doing ship classes now. Things are different. Here is the info on the Renegades.

      After the battle of Gadzair, the Renegades cut off most of their ties with other govts, to go back to the way they used to be. After being attacked several times by both the Miranu and Azdgari, they developed new technologies. After almost a century of living within asteroid belts, they have developed broad advancements, revolving around their asteroid enviroment. They have developed strong long-range sensors that can accurately scan systems up to three jumps away. They can detect even powerful confed cloaks with their ground based sensor arrays, and their ships can detect a zidigar cloak in system. They have learned to create ships from asteroids, and turn asteroids into defensive drones. This goes a long way, but no one can forget the powerful PAM, a seeking weapon that does great damage and has a long range.

      Photon Turret and Cannon 20 years ago, a renegade science fleet notices some odd energy signatures coming from an asteroid belt after the star the belt revolved around burned out. Upon close inspection, space ameobas were discovered on the asteroids. More research led to the discovery of photon energy. Photon turrets and cannons have a single space ameoba within a shell. When stimulated with electrical charges, the ameoba discharges a photon blast, that moves away at high speeds....Inaccurate, but above average range and average power.

      Ameoba Drop More of an action than a weapon, this is a practice used by fighters that can get up close to enemy ships. The fighter will eject ameobas into space, and if they hit the victim's shields, they will suck a little bit of power from the shields, and then explode, doing average damage.

      Photon Assasin Module These are basically upgraded SAD's, with thoron charged warheads. These have an extremely good range, and really good damage, although the launchers are bulky, so as a Lazira can barely carry one, and the Crescent Warship can carry two.

      Asteroid Research Along with sensor arrays and space ameoba-based weaponry, the Renegades also use Asteroids for defense, both by installing sensor arrays, PAM launchers, or even fighter squadrons within hollow asteroids. The most unbelieveable technology the Renegades have gained through asteroids, is their ship class, named only "Rocks" (named after their base they lost so many years ago). These ships, in essence, build themselves, by using nanotechnology, asteroids will come together, and be turned into a vast ship. Although contstruction takes nearly a month to build one (5 posts), the construction does not require any resorces to build, although shipbuilding engineers are needed to oversee the operation.

    • Shade, those will be fine, but please take off the zero from the end of the shields and armor to make them Game-scale, not Res-Edit scale. For example, the fighter, instead of 300 shields, it's really 30. Also, make the Lazira a little slower than the arada, say, 75? per sec for the Lazira?

      Also, instead of degrees per second, how about just using the EVO method? 1-10? (some fighters can be 11)

      I already typed up most of the ship classes, but since Im online before school, I wont have time for them all. I'll post Coalition (voinian/UE) and Miranu now.

    • Anybody at all interested if I joined for a very minor part? A group of anti-Azdgari Zidagar activists, probably residing in Zidagar space. Only problem is, the whole point is they try pretty insane things...

      I'd considered an anti-Azdara tech, you see, so I was wondering if I could write in an activist who'd been working with a group called the Twilight Order, and had designed, basically, the idea of this weapon. It wouldn't cut off Zidagar research times if the government would choose to research it...

      I'll talk to you on AIM if I can, okay, Red? ๐Ÿ™‚

    • (Overrider720, sorry. I just remembered, the Zachit were engulfed by the Miranu. You can control the Miranu until the former player joins, or you can be like, defense admiral, or something else. I would appreciate we not take up second in commands until all the govts have a commander.)
      (Carno, Email UE Admiral for me, My mouse wont work. UE Admiral, you can be second in command for one of the govts... You can be a human officer of the Coalition.... its up to you.)
