Just interested what are your personal ships?
Mine is called Thunderbolt, it's a Lazira with the following moddifications:
-SAD modules replaced with the SAE modules.
-dispersal rockets replaced with 15 pursuit missiles (my favorite little toys :D) with 2 launchers
-one Emaghla turret for Voinian armour.
I am currently leading a fleet of transporters and am a trade ship with the UE.

I'VE HAD A BUNCH OF SHIPS, BUT I THINK... THE ONE I HAD THE MOST FUN WITH... WAS A CRESCENT WARSHIP I PUT BRONEV AND DOSPECT ON INSTEAD OF THE CRESCENT FIGHTER BAY. I SOLD THE PHASED TURRETS FOR NEUTRON, AND USED MASS EXPANSIONS, I HAD A COUPLE MANEUVERABILITY UPGRADES, AND HUNTER AMMO WITH THE REST OF THE SPACE.
FORGIVE THE CAPS.
BTW, THE SHIP WAS NAMED THE S.S. SOPHIA, NAMED AFTER ONE OF MY GIRLFRIENDS. I HAD MY ESCORTS DECKED OUT WITH UE DESTROYERS... THEY ARE THE STRONGEST SHIPS WHEN IT COMES TO LARGE GROUPS.

I'll like to drive the Azdara only for the pleasure ofcontrolling it, it ois starting to become difficult to fly at 200%...
Well, I liked the Arada because of its speed and because it was my first real ship when I first played. I had a transport before and I had managed to get to 1M credits, what patience I had.
When I want to Hunt freely, I end up using a Iagzra, the UE Cruiser takes too much place on the screen, and the Cruiser is too slow, but good in the crescent.
One tip if your not in the game yet, double or tribple the same pilot file to find the most suitable upgrade to your preferences.

Never really thought of using an Arada. I was so patient I went from transporter to Lazira (That took a while ), Then I hired a fleet of transporters. Now I currently haul cargo and do UE deliveries. I'm hoping to get the rescue scoutship crew mission, where is that at?

I did the beardy thing and made stacks of cash on a cheeky trade route, then bought a crescent warship, so it has all of the mission upgrades. plasma siphon, cloaking device, "and a ." , nebula penetration scanner thingumay. Other than that standard spec apart from one emalga gun. I am going to have to get a one-jump ship to do the f-25 plug which I just got though (sob.)

My personal ship would have to be a Igadzra, maxed out with phase turrets, SAD and SAE modules, pursuit missiles and dispersal rockets, and a few others besides. Oh, and a few layers of Dospect armour, and a few shield enhancers to go with it. Costs a bomb though... 
Trader - you can find the RSC mission at any UE port with a bar, but you have to be patient, because it only appears a few times... and you also need a combat rating to do it - anything above Dangerous ought to be fine (I only know this because of EV Edit 
)

My advice would be not to upgrade a scoutship. It takes a lot of money and scoutships die to easily. I would just save up for the next level of ship you know Arada's and such. They have more room for expansion and don't die as much.
