    • Best TC plugin! (voting poll)

Yes yes, another poll, but what better does silly Alien have to do? Usually these get flamed, because the answer is simple. Frozen Heart rocks. Femme Fatale rocks more. And Martin Turner is God of TC plugs. Heh, but I'm going to make it a bit more interesting...

You may not vote for either FH or FF in this poll. I want to see who the best runner-up under these powerweights is! I've been messing with a Babylon 5 plugin recently, and it seems nice enough! What about ole F5, made by bomb? VOTE!

    • Hummm personally I don't like F-25.But I'd have to say that the Complete Incomplete is one of my favourites.
Great graphics, a neat storyline and realistic characters- if it was finished, the Complete Incomplete would rank up with FH and FF.
And besides,it's fun to extend the storyline in the complete Incomplete, and what's more, you're allowed to.

    • I may note that we are talking about TC plugs, here. TC = Total Conversion, which, in layman's terms, is replacing the entire EV:O universe with another. F-25 does not qualify for this, and neither does ROTV. TC plugs are quite a bit more work, because of all of the descriptions for the planets, models for the ships, and creation of completely new governments.

I got stuck someplace in FF, so I must vote for FH.

Mr. Stripper, I fail to see which FH ship has any resembelance to a dildo.

    • Babylon 5.(sp)
I played FH and FF and well...

(no offense to those who made FF or FH)
FH was too confusing and i never could find where to pick up on the story line again when i lost it.
And the graphics weren't quite as cool as the B5 plug's awesome looking ships.

FF was terrible. The star map was soo messed up, nothing made sense, no cool graphics.
(no offense to those who made FF or FH)

Babylon 5 was just what i was looking for.

Well, that's not quite my definition of a TC. I count F-25 as one, but not ROTV. The distinction is a bit fuzzy in my mind. I'm one of the few who doesn't like either FH or FF, so this is easier for me. 🙂 Anyway, I cast my vote for F-25 2.0. Great ships, great graphics, great missions.

(edit)And what's the Complete Incomplete? Never heard of that one before.(/edit)

Take it from one who knows; boring.
The missions are few and far between, as are the places to land. Much of the plug is spent at top speeds waiting for your generators to recharge enough to take a few ineffectual potshots at some enemy cruiser.

As for Skyfox, your sig seems in ingnorance of the flaws in the post it is attached to. I'm quite sorry, but I'm afraid I have no choice but to declare war upon you.

Asriel, the Complete Incomplete is the sequel to the Incomplete Plug.
Basically the maker, UniversalWolf, got half way through making an excellent TC and got stuck, so he put it up on the addons page for people to cannabalise for graphics.
Asides from neat graphics, the plug is finished enough to have quite an enjoyable mission string through the Imperial Cluster.
If you don't have it yet, I'd recommend you download it today.

    • Galaxy's Edge is an excellent plug-in in which EVO is modified to soemthing that truely represents space-travel, instead of something where you continously blow-up things and follow truthfully impossible story-lines, which Shade seems to like.

(Warning to Shade: Never diss a plug-in that Alien beta-tested. Kitty-smashings may occur. ;))

As for the Voinian plug-in, that sounds like a ship-add-on plug, but I'll try it and get back to you.

F-25... A true peice of work, one of the few TC plugs which can play off of the origional Escape velocity worlds. Yes, I count that one as a TC plugin, due to the fact that the dictionarical meaning of 'TC' (total conversion) is not the meaning we plug-in raters use.

I agree with Shade on one point... Those with sensitive ears, put on ear-muffs now.

WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GET DILDO OUT OF FH!?

      Thank you.

    • Good for you for disqualifying FF and FH; everyone would have voted for them. Quite a few have anyway, in fact...

B5 was good, but had some holes and used too many old graphics. Maybe in another edition...
Galaxy's edge was a great concept, but needed WAY more of a plot.
The incomplete plugs, while very good, were, as the name suggests, incomplete.

I personally love the Star Wars ANA plugs (all of them). They have my vote. However, in terms of EV alone, excluding the EVO versions (I know that is pointless but I really do want to mention it), my vote goes to one no one has mentioned yet, a takeoff of another game:
Elite Frontiers. The graphics are laughable, there are no descriptions, but it is still compelling and enjoyable in a way I don't understand. If it HAD descriptions and decent graphics, it would ROCK. Perhaps someone should remake it.

    • While Galaxy's Edge was good, and Giule obviously put an amazing amount of work into it, it was simply too realistic for me. 🙂

The graphics and descriptions are supposed to be like that - Elite Frontiers is a remake of the classic 3Dish space game 'Elite', not an ordinary Escape Velocity plug-in. To change the graphics or descriptions would be to diverge from the plug-in's purpose.

Galaxy's Edge would be **MUCH)/B) better if you had a mission computer to offer regular trading missions instead of just the occasional "hand computer mission." You get what I mean. Trading, gets boring.

As for my favorite EVO TC plug-in, I guess by Alien's definition of plug-in I would have to choose F-25.

And "Sexy"StripperBoy, I mean no offense, but it appears to me that your plug-in is just a glorified cheat plug. While an "alternate universe" where the UE lost the Battle of Sol and where Earth is on the front lines is a pretty good idea, the fact is you left the idea (b)WAY(/b( underdeveloped and filled it in with a big "cheat" plug. You can get the Enterprise for 0 credits, immediately! If that's not cheating, I don't know what is.

      God bless,

I was simply remarking that, since it has been made into an EV plug, it could diverge from the game it emulates and improve upon it. I realize this would make it wildly different from the original, but it would be an even better plug this way.
