    • Easiest way to make money (fast, legal)

      Ok.
After a bunch of.. um.. bad business decisions.. Going to Emalgha in an arada and trading the arada in for an Emalgha fighter, trading it in for a Emalgha warship, selling it for a ue destroyer, then buying a fighter, then destroyer again- I started with 3.9M, now I have 511 credits and a destroyer with neutron turrets, dospect plating, and rocket ammo.

From plundering, I've got my count up to 1.37M
I want to buy a UE cruiser. I already picked up the first mission of the voinian string a while back, so I'm gonna play it, and buy rocket turrets and bronev for it. I'm gonna play Zidagar and buy phased beamers for the cruiser. I want to know the best (easiest) way to make money without pissing off any of those govts. I also dont use the monty python, I consider it a cheat. So, what's the easiest way to get a lot of credits legally? (I'm going to conquer sumer and whatever that northern voinian outpost is right after this post)

Also, which strand should I play for? I'm thinking about playing for two. also tell me where to pick up the string.

    • With that destroyer, I would try to conquer renegade planets (Human). Nobody cares about 'em except the other renegades...

    • Try going to the system that is right next to coucil station. South-west or west from there. It's empty except for one planet. There are a lot of fights between the different crescent factions. When one of the ships is dissabled, board it and take the money. Also try to capture it. It's a lot of quick money and you might get a nice ship.

I've been doing that in Pax,just stealing cargo from disabled freight-couriers and supply ships. Miranu freight delivery pers' (in human space) have a lot of credits on board, so I've been ripping them up. I'm kinda nervous about getting tribute, cause I doubt I could take out the bounty hunters. I'm probably just gonna start working for the Zidagar now, and when I finish the string, I'll have enough money for the cruiser.

    • The Thehir-Gribn run is the best way to earn money, bar none. Your Destroyer is more than enough to handle what the local renegades can throw at ya.

Carrying Munb leaves back and forth between Himgro and Munb is profitable as well, but it takes longer.

If you're looking to profit via violent means, the following ships have a lot of cash to plunder:

      -Crescent Renegade ships
-Enemy Strand vessels. Even Arada variants carry 100k+ credits. The Azdgari Warship & Igazra carry TONS of cash.

However, I do not recommend this course. Even with bronev armor and neutrons, you're pressing your luck going up against top-grade vessels like these with your current ship.

In short, an awesome trading route is the best way. Of these, Thehir/Gribn is the #1 route, assuming you can handle it--which you can.

    • If you don't wany bounty hunters on you, then don't conqure freeport or any other renegade planets - they are just as capable of hiring bounty hunters as anyone else.

Also, the UE Destroyer is a very underrated ship in my opinion. Even with doposect, it carries enough armor to take quite a beating in the crecent, not to mention bronev... it also has a very good profile for head-on attacks - if your good enough to take full advantage of it, you can avoid a lot of hits while still getting right in your enemy's face.

Other than that, do the missions about curing the New Cacatula plauge. It's an easy 500k. I don't think you have to do more than shuttle people and messages all over the galaxy. You might even get to blow up a strange asteroid. Or maybe that was another string...

    • Steal from Miranu Freighters marked as traders in Miranu space. They tend to carry quite a load of cash. And if you can, capture a couple and start taking cash and cargo from 'em. And no one cares if you take out Traders, πŸ˜ƒ
Also, if you're working for the voinians, get a couple big freighter escorts, hired or captured, and pirate Emphalga Freighters in the northernmost emphalga system. Take their cargo and sell it on that planet (I recomend taking it over, too. Tribute money can come in handy.) I've racked up millions in a couple minutes that way. Good luck.

    • Ok, the key word in his request was legal.

Oh yeah, and I forgot the best way to make money fast if you have a good enough ship: Frontier Express. All you have to do is sneak some cargo past 4-5 Voinian ships and you get 75,000 a delivery. I've upgraded from a scoutship straight to a UE Destroyer this way.

    • I can tell you a 8 jump trip that has a 250,000 credit turnaround.

Get 6 freighter escorts (or as many as you can afford) on the bar at Earth. Then load up all the way with tourists. Be careful not to spend so much that they leave! That's a lot of dough to lose! Take them to New Rome in the Talii system. Drop them there, pick up some food and haul it back to Earth (minimal profit on this leg). Do it as many times as you want. I earned enough for a Crescent Warship in about 3 hours.

Otherwise go to The Rock and take on the constant stream of renegades. 1 Lazira can have 150,000 credits in it and a CW can have up to 500,000 (if you're lucky).

get 6 miranu h. freighters by going to Station Pybin. Hire a h. freighter and release from sevice, disable and capture use as escort(this way you dont piss-off the Miranu).repeat untill you have 6 M H. F's for escort.(if you dont capture the ship pause the game and re-open the pilot and do it again.)
then do the above rout. 1M cr. pay-off. CHA CHING $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

    • PEOPLE PEOPLE PEOPLE! You can't be more wrong! 8 jumps? I know one where there are none. And it ain't the Hatuli run either. This one is simple, the stellars are almost next to each other and, unless you're extremely unlucky, you won't run into any nasties. Give up? Go to the Emalghion system and visit Lmeito, one of Emalghia's moons. Get metal there, sell at Emalghia. At Emalghia, purchase equipment, and sell at Lmeito. Easy.

OK, so the profit margins are small, but at least with this one you don't already need a stack of credits to hire escorts. You can do a few UE cargo missions, get a scoutship, and then begin this route. If you want escorts, Emalghia Freighters are available.

Someone beat this route for simplicity, and I'll give 'em a medal (figuratively!).

    • By personal experience, I know a perfectly good way to earn money(fast) and bring up your combat AND legal status without getting anyone mad. You must goto Tmidor in Miranu space
and just land there. Then, take off and keep killing the renegades that pass by there.
I've earned (so far) 14.25 million credits from doing this and my legal standing in that
system is a pillar of society. I also have a deadly combat rating. It's fast, it's easy,
      and it's fun... no wonder it's #1!

    • Hire the maximum number of Miranu Heavy Freighters or other cargo haulers as escorts, and follow the trading table listed (url="http://"http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/dsghosh/evosite/missionsjunk.html#junk")here(/url). Easy as pie.

Do you ever not post links that help people cheat? πŸ˜‰

Anyway, you people should use my method. You get an amazing profit and the possibility that you might capture a warship. I usually get it after buying my scout ship. Trust me, it works. πŸ˜„

    • The easiest way to make a good 600,000+ is to go to one of the uninhabited systems next to Azdgari and Gadzair. It might help if it has an uninhabited planet. What you do is wait for an Igazra to enter the system, if you and/or your fleet is strong enough attack it and plunder it, or wait until an Azdgari Warship joins in and hover above the Igazra. The warship's fighters will disable it and the second it is disabled you board the ship then get the hell out of there.

    • Why the hell bother with all this? Thehir-Grbn is easy, in one system, and with escorts can yeild more money in less time than any of the methods mentioned here, except for plundering, which is not 'legal' because it gets the plunder-ees mad at you.

Of course if you want ultimately cheap arse, and have something else to do, get lots of freighter escorts and cargo expansions and go buy fuzzes. They multiply; just do your homework or something and sell off the little bastards every ten minutes or so. No effort at all.

OK, so you might be able to read. Do we comprehend? It's (IMHO) a HULLAVALOT easier than dodging Kraits and whatnot on the Thehir-Gribn run. It's easier than jumps too cause you don't spend the extra day travelling, blowing your credits on escorts πŸ™‚
