Which Arada do you like best?

Igadzra Arada- Designed to act as a gunboat, taking out large ships using a "pack technique"
Azdgari Arada- Designed to provide supporting fire for Azdara's, while guarding AWs against a fighter attack (swarm)
Zachit Arada- Designed to take out renegade fighters
Renegade Arada- Stronger than Merchant Arada but designed to pirate goods
Merchant Arada- Weakest with a lot of cargo room cargo room

The Igadzra Arada is just as fast as the other Aradas, minus the Azdgari model.

The Azdgari Arada has a total of 6 phase cannons and 11 dispersal rockets - not exactly lightly armed.

Really? I always thought they were the same speed. I have to go with Igadzra on this one, simply because, working for the Azdgari, I get the chance to capture lots of the little buggers.

3 rear phase cannons
engine upgrade
afterburner (always)
1 dispersal rocket launcher
11 dispersal rockets

Since all the phase cannon on an Igadzra Arada are swivels, you have to target them. An enemy ship will never be in both the front and rear arcs of fire at the same time - unless it's a huge one and you're parked right on top of it. That's hardly good tactics. Thus, the six guns only really do the work of three.

If one captures an Iggy Arada, though, can the three rear phase guns be replaced with front-mounted ones? A six-shooter of that size would be awesome! The only other regular ship with six guns is the Voinian Cruiser, which is rather larger... wow. This I have to check out.

I like the azdgari arada because of its speed. and the guns can be replaced wit forward guns just like voinianambassador said.

Ambassador, sorry about your plan, but you can only put four guns on an Arada.

If you sold the rear guns, you could only buy one forward swivel cannon (I think).

I've got to agree with Alien about the paint job of the Zachit Arada. Looks sweet.

I believe my vote, however, would go for the Azdgari Arada.

Dull grey? Heh, I got so tired of flying an Arada with the typical grey and green colors that I replaced the sprites with the Zachit Arada.

Ah... so the Igadzra version exceeds the basic definition? It has weapons, but they don't liberate space or gun slots when they're removed? The eight-turret Voinian Cruiser in ROTV1 suffers from the same problem. Rats.

Still, it's only fair that such a small ship should max out at four guns...and that's still one more than a Lazira.

Plus, the upgrades on it, for me, are just perfect. I sometimes capture myself one...and once...I used it instead of a Crescent Fighter!!!

I have never seen a disabled Zachit Arada. Was it necessary to use a cheat plug, to capture the Zacha ship?

No, you can disable them. They have 10 armor, like regular Aradas.
