Attention Webboard Community:

I am hereby posting my resignation from the WDC board, and the community itself.
I am going to use self control, and not flame rooster, he really didn't do any one thing, he did a number of annoying, slightly immature things. How many members are truly happy with the WDC? I think everyone knows what I'm talking about, about the WDC.... and it's Tyrannic leader.

I propose that we find a new board, and create a new community, one without a leader, make it a council, of all the members. The members would vote on everything, and decide on the few rules that would have to be there. Rooster, dont take anything the wrong way, Anyone in your position would be tyrannic. no matter how much self-control they once had, any monopoly will push it's own limits to insane levels. The WDC has had no major competition, thats why I believe it (well, it's leader) has become what it has. I wish I could post this on the WDC board, but I have a good feeling it would mysteriously be deleted before many people could see it...

No, I do not propose that my board be the base of operations, or that I be a leader. I just know that the WDC is not working how it is, and needs to be changed. The Webstory community has some great writers and Ideas, We all know that it can do better.

Well I'm using this as my topic, even if this fails, maybe it will start the gears grinding towards a change in the WDC. It has great potential, but it is deteriorating rapidly toward being shunned, ignored, and given up on by the community. Use this Topic to place your vote for or against revolutionizing the Webstory Community for the better.

I occasionally see Rooster about the boards,but I could hardly describe him as 'tyrannical".

People have to have been to roosters board, and been to the WDC meetings to know what im talking about. His obsessive rules, his blocking and warning you on AIM if you say anything against him, and just reading, you can see how he wont let his own character die, even when he's tied to a chair and guarded by two other characters, well armed.

Oh well, maybe someone that knows what I'm talking about will read this.... Eventually.....

I'd have to agree with this.. -REDCHIGH-, you aren't being compelled to post there. If you don't like the way it is run, then stay away from it. Make your own storyboard if you feel like it should be run differently.

And for the love of God, don't make the topic something like that. This only has to do with a small community of 25 people.

Starkiller, you really don't know what's going on. I'm currently fighting somewhat of a legal battle to stop Rooster putting my webstories up on his page, and Rooster has something in the range of...lots...of dissatisfied customers. We all hate him, and there's a reason.

This topic had to be made sometime. Sorry for the inconvenience, but it had to be done, and if things escalate I might just add a couple more - entirely knowing the effects of it but simply because someone needs to make sure this hellhole is avoided.

Trust us, people. The "WDC" and it's tyrannical leader should be avoided. We know what we're talking about. Carnotaur and I are among the main webstory designers right now, and I have recently realised what Rooster is trying to do there -- put us in as his underlings, which makes him the "Webstory King". I don't really think much of this.

Just to clarify, Rooster is incredibly egotistic. Trust me here - yes, I don't like him, but no, I'm not going over the top with any of this. He's making a webstory achievement awards for mundane things like post counts, when he's already looked through records to find he'll win them all, and refuses to make any for "best webstory". He's said Apocalyptic Night and some other webstories, like the Resistance, don't count for awards.

He's resurrected himself countless times in webstories because he doesn't want to die. He's seriously pissed off Carnotaur, Nova, myself, Whitehawk, Thunder, Rigadaz...

Redchigh has a good idea. He wants to find more people on this board, it seems, to join a new community. There's nothing wrong with that, I just hope he doesn't forget we have one - Carnotaur's Boardgame.

...anyway, time for someone to come in and close this topic. Just please don't lower your opinions on Redchigh for making this post. If your going to lower your opinion on anyone , it should be Rooster. Redchigh has his reasons.

I agree that a topic maligning rooster is out of line, but as Esponer says, there is an air of truth to what Redchigh has to say. I myself was recently driven off from rooster's WDC by his actions. I, of course, forgive him for his mistakes, but that doesn't mean I'm ever going to go back to his community. I understand that this topic might need to be locked or deleted, and rightfully so, but I just wanted to back Redchigh up by saying that there is some truth in his writing.

As for a new place to go, this board has always been quite friendly to the various stories, and Esponer has already made another suggestion. Either would be good alternatives to Rooster's board for those who are dissatisfied with his... erm... style of management.

Given what most people in this topic have said, I think REDCHIGH is totally justified. I hold nothing against him for starting this topic; I don't believe in shooting the messenger.

What bothers me most is the fact that Rooster has SD's stories up on the site against his will. He has no right to put someone else's material up without their consent, and if nothing else he should take them down out of common decency.

I'd say that starting a new community outisde of rooster's is definitely a good idea, considering everything. I sincerely hope it prospers. RED is right; a group promoting webstories should just throw ideas around and whatnot, that's the real value of a community like that. Having some guy in charge of the whole thing and running the whole show in the fashion that rooster is clearly anti-productive and foolish.

The only reason I posting to this topic is because rooster is constantly pasting the url into #ev3 and being a pain in the posterior regarding it. I didn't even know, until now, about this entire webstory thing rooster has. But now that I've spend the time to read this, I might as well offer my opinions on it.

From what I know of rooster, him being "tyrannical leader" as people here are saying wouldn't surprise me too much. But in his defense, there are very few people who, in a position of power, don't abuse it. Its a fact of life, live with it.

Now I, for one, don't particularly like a large set of strict rules that you must follow to be able to post somewhere or add to a story, I prefer more open and lenient policies. I do agree that being pestered over irc and aim about minor violations of dumb rules is annoying, but that is how rooster chooses to run his board, and if you want to take part in it, thats the price you have to pay.

If you don't think that rooster's community is right for you, by all means, leave. Start your own if you want, that is your right And given that posts of this nature to rooster's board might be removed, this is probably the right forum to post to. I would have suggested the B&B;, but this works.

Thats it for my random opinions. And, yes, rooster can be annoying as hell.

hmmm time to add my few cents in. that way we can all have a nice arguement! yes, that means I'm taking roosters side. The other side has some nice arguments so I'm going to take roosters side for once. anyway here goes........

SD, your webstory's were on there because they were webstories is basically it. yes, fine you don't like them on the site but did you ever actually ask nicely? I'm not quite sure about this but what I saw on the board didn't seem very nice. I know you don't like rooster but it seems you were quite mad when you made your request.

And the only time rooster was really near death was the space battle were he pulled up some rules to help him out. In the room he was stopped from being killed for th e webstories sake because he knew away 'home'. After that he was almost killed by SD.Doctors saved him blah de blah. And guys, if you don't like it, simply leave. He put up the board for a place we could all have some webstories that wouldn't be locked because they weren't EVO. SD you threatened to leave and came back... because people voted for you to come back when you asked. not only that rooster himself voted for you to stay. rooster can't have underlings because

1. this is the internet. we can do almost whatever we want. We don't have to stay there. It's our choice. see the word choice?

2. Our lives. He can't control them, he can't say what we do in real life. webstories aren't everything. At least I hope they aren't.

3. Webstories aren't real. repeat to yourself it's only a webstory. There are some groups out there were they say there characters aren't dead when it's impossible theey aren't and people shrug it off and laugh at that person's sillyness.

jeesh. For pete's sake people, get some lives. Are webstories that important that your going to argue about them forever? looking back upon the topic, even my own writoing I have to laugh. This really is silly. Were fighting over webstories which no one but the people in them are going to remember. you didn't have to post this topic RED, not only that REDchigh you killed yourself in Altair remember? you shouldn't whine about it when your not in it.

If we really must discuss the relevancy of my survival, so be it. By participating in the stories you are stating that you understand WDC rules, the same ones that kept me alive the first time. As for the recent stabbing, that was up to Carnotaur. If he hadn't had his doctors operate...well...chances are i couldn't do it myself. :rolleyes:
