By a show of posts how many people would like to play EV in a 360 environment, this will enable you to fly your ship up and down as well as side to side. I think it a good idea!

If anyone tried to make a 3D version of EV, it would require that they made it a lot more like a flight sim, probably losing a lot of what makes EV unique in the process. I'm not saying that a 3D game like EV or even based on the EV/Override/Nova scenarios couldn't be good, but it just wouldn't be EV any more than a multiplayer version would.

As I read the posts on the two 3D EV thread, I'm going to change my vote and side with the masses. I guess I'd like an EVesque game in 3D, but not EV/EV:O itself. Someone mentioned Privateer in the EV version of this thread. I wouldn't mind a new game like that(although my iBook no longer seems like the speed demon it once was).
I personaly would enjoy a new game with the 3D environment of Exobattle and engaging story line of EV. So it wouldn't exactly be a flight sim.

That's not stricly Exobattle per se: he downloaded the C++ source code from Matt Burch's site and edited it (a far bit, by the looks of the screenshots).

Actually, I did make a sort of EVO/3d game, you fly as a renegade Miranu fighter, and you take over various races, fighting numerous other CF's, and finally having to fight the bosses- UE cruiser and Voinian dreadnought.. now, doesn't that ruin the storyline?
I didn't really make the game, i hacked a game and replaced the picts, but still.

Actually, a game that had a storyline that was great, and was more than just a flight sim. . .well- let's just say, it's already under the works. 
GS Creation is working on it right now. It's called Blueprint. It's going to be a game with an ingenius storyline, graphics, and features. For one thing-it's going to be all of the following:
-A flight sim
-1st person shooter
-puzzle game
-and overall multi-moded play RPG

There's a logo at the above url for it. It's a long way away though. . .it's also going to be practically EVO in 3D, but with different names, and a few more different/more or less add ons to make it legal.

So it has the same story type feel of EV, with the eye candy of all those other games out there in an environment that just might satisfy everyone? Sounds pretty good already :D. There's an idea, take the best of both worlds, cross-breed their best attributes, and release the love child to millions of rabid gamers. It's a sure winner ;). Well, that's the best that I can come up with at 2:00 AM.
Yes. . .it's Freespace, Perfect Dark, Diablo II, and Zelda64, except mixed and way cooler.
