I can't wait for EV3 to come out, but I have a few questions. I know that the game is not done and you can't answer all of them, so please don't point that out.

My first question is : Will this game be more like EV or Override ? By this I mean will it be humorous (like EV) with planets like Endor and Dune, or will it be more serious (like Override) with fewer comedy elements ? I happen to enjoy both.

My second question is : Will there be many pictures on the map ? Like the Trugati Asteroid Belt, Serpens Nebula, Ji and Proxima Nebulas ?

My third and final question is : Which universe will this take place ? The one from EV with planets like Spica, Palshife, et cetera ? Or the universe of Huron, Pax, Mirava, Hinavar, et cetera ?

Ambrosia makes the best shareware games, keep up the good work guys.

I'd prefer it if EV3 is set in an entirely new Universe. The only race I liked in EVO was the Adzgari. Also, the voinians kind of got lame after awhile.

I think that EV3 will continue a war between two super-powers (i.e. Confed vs. Rebel - United Earth vs. Voinian). The map will be considerably larger. The ships and graphics will be better. The pilot will start out in a shuttle with 10000 credits, and will be thrown into a universe that is alive with war and political tension. These are all obvious, I know.

I hope that EV3 will make the other games look, for lack of a better word, crappy (not that I think they are crappy, I just want the new game to be great). I hope its plotline will be intense. And I hope that I can afford to pay the registration fee .

From what I think I know, EV3 will be more serious than comedy. I have no clue about nebulas etc. on the map. I believe it will follow suite after EVO and will be another different universe. And, who says it has to be only TWO superpowers??? (we know more is possible; look at the strand war!)

Also after looking at some of the screenshots of the landing pics, they are much larger than the 333X271 Resolution of the present EV/EVO. Can anyone confirm that the new landing pics for EV3 are that larger size instead of the smaller size that we are used to? I ask because I'm in the process of making my own plug; and doing it very slowly so it might come out after EV3.

Yes, not only are they larger but the descriptions of the landing scenes are as well. Rather than "This is the Confederation's main source of fuel" you get "The Federation's ........" and about 400 words after

Anyways, if you want to change the size of any version of EV's landing PICTs than fuX0r with the DLOG size of the various boxes.

Also, what did the word 'Override' have to do with the game ?

I know there will be more than two governments, but when the player is first introduced to the game there are two main governments (plus independents). You had to explore the map to find the Miranu, Azdgari, Igadzra, Zidagar, Council, Emalgha, et cetera. Maybe this will be different in EV3. Maybe there will be another war like the Strands War. I don't know, I'm not involved in the project :frown: .

My only request for EV3 is that it has a well developed and extensive plot line. Maybe 3 or 4 significant ones. Something as large and complex as Frozen Heart or Femme Fatale. Others will agree that many of us are mission oriented players and even though EV and EVO never really ended, once the missions were finished there wasn't really any desire to keep playing the game. EV3 needs a few enormous plot lines that possibly intersect and are modified throughtout the gameplay based upon our actions. I also believe that it also needs a fairly decent amount of mid-range missions. Ones that are not as complex, but ones that become available through our varied style of play.
One of my biggest desires is to modify the spaceport. abilities. I mean once you land it's like a get out of jail free card if you were being chased by one government or another. I think that there needs to be some sort of section where you can see what ships/characters are docked and then possibly be able to sabotage or steal technology/upgrades if you don't have enought credits. On the flip side this would also mean the simply landing wouldn't guarantee you a free ride away from any pursuers. If they decided to land they could find out that your ship is docked and cause havoc on you.
Who knows what EV3 will be like? I am just as anxious as everyone else for its release. My thoughts may or may not provide some ideas for the programmers. I am not one myself and I don't have any idea how difficult it would be to come up with something like my spaceport idea. I do, however, know that it really needs to be saturated with missions and story lines so as to provide the user with a great deal of playing time.

Ambrosia can do whatever they want with EV3 because I know that they'll do the right thing. There are only two things that I want from EV3. These are a compelling, detailed plotline with lots of characters. And I want replay value. I want to be able to play this game over and over. I'm not going to tell them how to do their jobs, I'm only a fan.

Well, first of all I've seen the EV3 screenshots, and I think the landing PICTs look like PICTs from an EV plug-in called "EV Ultra".

I also think EV3 will start out in a totally new universe. With new governments, new ships, and new weapons.

I've got an idea for EV 3, how about being able to re-paint your ship. It shouldn't be too hard to add a few extra transparrency layers in their to enable you to chose from a set of predefined colours. Then they'd be arguments over which ship / colour combination their would be I suppose...

Incase this idea is used in the game, I would like to note it in the record book that me, Jack Hyde thought of it.

Except it won't be 3D, you know that. Besides to run exobattle (it used that format) you needed graphic acceleration. While maybe if they made their own format, or something and a converter, so you could make ships, and then convert them into a format EV could use, then have it occur on a 2d plane but when the ships turn, they roll.

escape velocity is the lowest speed needed to escape a planets gravitational pull, and the override is overriding that speed so ya get out of tha pull faster. im smart hehe
