EV is far more astronomically correct than EVO. EVO has very very few things named after actual stars.

Yeah, EV has hella places named after real stars. Most of them are, I think. EVO has barely any.

d00dz, you can actually see Mira yourself, I recall doing some star gazing about a year ago and remember that the star I was looking at (Mira, hard to see), was the same as in EVO.
EVO is pathetically unrealistic, especially in how the galaxy is laid out.

BTW: What is funny is that the planet that orbits Mira in EV is a livable planet! It would fry and freeze constantly if it did exist there. As I recall, the description there has you "outside". Ouch.

One main difference between the EV systems and EVO systems is this: EV systems actually exist - EVO systems usually don't. Most of the system names in EV were actually gotten from astronomy stuff, and the names for EVO were just made up.

Well that's bound to happen, considering they're mapping all the stars in a 2D map. But I don't think it really matters as much for EVO as it did for EV, as EV was more of a 'humans alone' sort of thing, and seemed to be going for a more plausible situation. EVO is more far-fetched.

Well, a lot of things in the Universe are somewhat flat. Out galaxy is MOSTLY flatlike..The only way I could desribe a 3D model of our galaxy is like taking our Earth and pulling it in all directions at the equator until the Earth is 2 or 3 times wider. Even our solar system is "flat". If the planets rotated about the Sun on an X-Y plane, then there is very little change in movement on the z-axis.
