    • Which of the strands is better?

      I know this has probably been posted before, but i just wanted to know what you'll say. All in all, which is the best strand?

      and if you know, where do their mission strings start?

      personally i have been with the Igazra, and the Zidigar on two diff pilots, and the Zidigar seem better.

      I like the Azdgari. Strong ships. Fast ships. Cool ships. Good ships. Nice name. The Igadzra are pretty good, the Zidagar I don't like (but are the overral easiest to get along with). The Igadzra get easily swarmed by the Azdgari, and thus, don't stand a chance. The Zidagar are too weak to be of any threat. In my really big upcoming plug-in for EVO 1.0.2, the Azdgari are slowly becoming the superior strand. The Zidagar are just too weak to stand up to them and the Igadzra, and the Igadzra Order is engaged in a bitter struggle against the Azdgari and ST Renegades.

      The Azdgari for several reasons:
      (list=1)
      () The Azdara with Dospect on it is unstoppable. It is possible to capture Council Station in it
      (      ) The Experimental Generator actually helps in combat. The Igadzra's SAEs are **, and the Zidagar ECM and Beamer are pathetic
      (      ) Maneuverability upgrades. See above
      (      ) You won't get swarmed by those @$#&!% Azdaras

      Before this turns into a bunch of flames, let's ask a few questions so people can debait about this stuff easier:

      Which Strands have the best planets?

      Which Strand has the best ships/outfits?

      Who will win in the end?

      Who would you join if it was real life?

      Since they all have the same cause(unknown), I won't ask the cause question.

      Personally, I'm impartial. My opinions:

      The Zidigar have the best planets. The Adzari are nomadic, so they have few planets and don't develop them much, and the Igdzari planets just seem wierd to me.

      Ships/outfits: They're all roughly equal in my mind, with the Zidigar a little behind the other two.

      Who will win in the end? No opinion.

      Who would I join in real life? I would probably join whoever asked me for help first, not knowing wat i was getting into until it was too late to remain nuteral.

      My personal favorite is the Zidagar, mainly because I really like the Zidara (it's my favorite ship and the one I always use as my own unless I'm playing a plug-in with better ships in it).

      In answer to the question of where the mission strings start, it's like this:
      Zidagar: Pozdag 3 in the Pozdag system (western Zidagar space)
      Igadzra: Kitrak, in Miranu space
      Azdgari: South Tip Station in the Akrahyek (sp?) system (WAY down in the south tip, below Human Renegade space)

      As for which strand would eventually win, it's whichever one the player joins. 😉 Really, though, without the player's intervention, I think that it would be a toss up. The balance of power makes it so that none of the 3 strands is powerful enough to take out the other two, and so it would take an alliance between two of them to defeat one of the others. The Azdgari would have an advantage at this, since they're so devious, and the Igadzra would have a disadvantage, since they're obviously too paranoid to ever form any kind of alliance.

      Allow me to be politically incorrect (Really? I'm not THAT sure...)
      I will not comment on the fact this subject has been debated over and over (Actually... I just did).
      After all, new members also ask not to get an answer but to voice an opinion.
      What's more intresting is this necessity one finds of having a strand BETTER than another. What
      would happen if Ambrosia had called the strands "races".
      Would anyone here ask "What is the best race?"... Probably not. Yet it is exactly what you are doing.
      Digital Boy had a more constructive approach by redefining the question. But we go back to a binary situation : A ship is better or worse than another. Hummmm.
      What is better? A hummer or a Ferrari F 50?
      a Falcon F16 or a Boeing 747 or a space shuttle?
      Each is probably quite good in its own respect.
      I may be trying to kill 75% of this board's topics and will probably be flamed for it but I enjoy EVO as a game. And I have impersonated every strand and race available. And played the games with quite a few ships. And you know what? NONE was better.
      The challenges were different, hence the pleasure I had for playing it, and yes, there were missions I could not complete with some ships (helping the Zachit throught the Miranu Gunship mission with an helian is...difficult).
      But I wish other board members could relay the though that everything should not be considered in terms of better or worse.
      And as to who would you join in real life... I wish you all never to have to ask yourself such a question. One because you NEVER really have the choice (how many of you would actually fight for another country than yours? and are you sure you would do it for a decent reason?)
      and second because we would all be losers.

      The Strands are all one and the same- their names are all a jumble of the same letters, and the original race was (I believe) the Gadzair- Also uses the same letters, planet of same name in system of same name, unoccupied now- but is orbited by Council Station, which is the station of the Council, which I believe is like a UN between hostile races.
      Which is the best Strand? None, for they in truth are one...

      I like the Igadzra and the Azdgari. For one thing, I can actually find where to get their missions. The Zidagar ships are ugly (ever noticed how the radar pic od the Zidara looks nothing like the real pic?). I like the Igadzra personality, and they are the most powerful. Asdgari ships are cool, and they have fun missions.

      Someone said, "Would anyone ask: which race is better? Probably not." Well, you're wrong. I mean, in real life, sure that would be bad, but we're talking about a computer program! Some things are better or worse than others. And, people have asked which race is better. One of the topiccs right near this one is all a bout that. There is nno need to be so mature about all this. Sheesh!

      When I saw this topic I thinked it would have no future (like mine on this subject). But it seems working.

      I love the Azdgaris for the Azdara.
      The Zidara isn't sufficientely powerful for an own government warship, and the Igazra are too slow and have not enough crew.

      the Igadzra dont have enough crew? Wouldn't that be a good thing? All that means is they now have more available manpower (or maybe Igadzrapower 😕 ), granted that doesn't help you as a player but as a race it is very useful.

      I actually like the fact that Igazras don't have a lot of crew. Then it makes it really simple for my Voinian Cruiser to capture them! Bwa ha ha! Next thing you know, I got 6 Igazra escorts!
