    • Monty Python II

I know that most people here like the Monty Python. But I try not to use it too much. I just think the game is so much more fun not using it. It's a little better in EVO 1.0.2, but it's still better just using other teqniques.

P.S. If anyone has any other manuvers/tactice, I'd like to hear them.

P.P.S. If you want a challenge, try doing the Hnwar Missions without the Monty Python. It's pretty hard, but you'll really feel good afterwards.

    • Depending on the ship you can turn on autopilot and push forward. When you near the enemy ship turn a little to either side of it and resume using autopilot. You should just fly in circles around the guy. This works well when you play against Voinians (slow moving neutron weaponry). Its also good against blaze and emahghaghaghla rounds. But its worthless against phase.

    • Thats what i did when i was in an Arada. I would go around other Aradas for a real challenge. It sounds sappy, but i got gratification doing that around a UE fighter...
Its fun to mock fighters like that, and it's Easy with a Voinian fighter, a little harder with a UE fighter, and fun with a krait.....

    • Try the Rock manuver. Just stay as still as posilbe and hit atuo pilot and Fire at will as enemy ships pass you by. Its worked for me many of times.

    • Just so you know, the monty pithon is not a cheat. This tactic could be used in real life. Think about it. Say you're having a snowball fight while riding bycycles (no comments please) and somone is chasing you. If you throw a snowball at them it will hit them, but if they throw a snowball at you they will catch up to it and it will hit them in the face. This is the monty pithon, just like in EV (Captian LeGrenadier does not encourage snowball fighting on bycycles.)

    • Here's another maneuver that I have tested and works perfectly:

1-Buy a fast, medium, ship and then arm yourself with lots and lots of cannons. No turrets.

2-During a large battle between capital ships (or just just warships) go up to a warship you wish to attack (which is NOT enemies with you) and then start shooting it with your cannons, but don't target it. If the ship you are shooting at is busy with another target, it will totally ignore you. Then, you can just quietly sit there and cannon it to death.

P.S. Here's another one (easy one too): Drop a space mine when a hoard of fighters are chasing you and watch the fused hulls and flames fly.

    • I love space mines. Not too practical, and half the time you end up blowing yourself up, but they're loads of fun. You can even kill Cap'n Hector with one.

    • I didn't know you could kill captain Hector, your shots pass through him.

    • I have killed hector dozens of times...

He is immune to your fire...

But he ain't immune to explosions!! I nailed him with a dipsy rocket the first time and went nutz when I saw his shields low...

And who would be stupid enough to keep chasing you after a few snowballs?

Here's one of my manuvers. It's very hard to pull off, but it works really well.

      1. Get any turrents/cannons except phase (too fast for this manuver)
      2. Get any escort with the same primarys as you
      3. Gang up on another ship
      4. Time when you start firing a split second after your escort starts firing (before works too)
      5. You should hit the target, then your escort hits it, then you hit it, etc. with the primarys.

Also, if you're in a really fast ship (200 or better for Nuterons, proably about 300 or better for Blaze, 450 or better for phase), if you run full-speed, straight for the ship, but to the side just enough so it can't nail you with rockets, it will confuse the ships turrents, which will fire at a 90° angle to you. then you can just let turn(but don't hit the accel button) as you pass the ship. This works especially well on Zidaras, since all thier turrents are in the back. I've taken out Zidaras this way without even getting hit in a upgraded Arada.

Well, no, actually. If someone throws a snowball forward while riding a bicycle, the snowball will travel forward with the velocity imparted to it by the thrower's arm PLUS the velocity of the bicycle at the moment the snowball is released. Assuming the velocity of the bicycle remains constant, the rider will not catch up with the thrown snowball.

This also means that unless the thrower behind you has a weak arm or you're really fast, you should still get smacked. 😉

And also, someone said that you can just sit there and let the enemy come to you... that only works with fighters. Any capital warship worth its salt could kill you.

    • Actually, that analogy does work. If the person behind you throws the snow ball it will have your throwing speed plus the speed of your bike. But wind resistance increases as does the speed. Plus (assuming the person in front of you is going the same speed) that speed boost from your bike will be canceled out by the speed of their bike. Meanwhile, the front rider pretty much just has to throw the snowball straight up reducing wind resistance to nil.

But the problem is what digital boy stated. They wouldn't be dumb enough to keep on chasing you.

Plus, riding bikes in snow is very hard 🙂

    • not stupid, its fun. I used to love doing that when I was a kid. You kind of need enough snowfall to cushion your fall though. But if you have about a foot of snow its impossible to hurt yourself. 🙂

    • I meant it would be stupid to rrace all over the place on a bike while having a snowball fight.

    • You can't hit Captain Hector directly with weapons, but as alien said, you get a big enough explosion in the right spot, you can destroy him. I always did it by launching a space mine at an asteroid as he passed. He'll come back, though.

As for maneuvers, I'm not much of a fighter pilot, but on my current pilot file I'm flying a renegade arada with four swivel cannons. On something similar to the autopilot maneuver, i chase the enemy around in circles while keeping the ship in my sights. The swivel cannons do the work. I haven't had any luck with turrets, though.

    • Hmmm, snowballs? Am i at the right board? The topic headline say´s Monthy PythonII, and here i see a huge discussion about snowballs?
